Raceday Preview

1:35pm - There could be still plenty more to come from the top weight

Al Arbeed who ran a close fourth in a Class 2 handicap at Southwell over 1 mile and the form of that race has worked out well. He did disappoint in his last run at Wolverhampton but looks a danger here now returning to action after a break. Cogitate ran well here last time out over a 1 mile trip. He is off the same mark again today and looks to have tactical speed. A repeat of his last run would see him go close here today. Eminency drops 1lb to a mark of86 and should go close with a few runs under his belt in recent months.

2:08pm - Anniversary should come on for his run at Lingfield last month after a long layoff. He looks an interesting contender who is still unexposed over this trip. Blindedbythelights has finished runner-up on his last 3 starts. He was run down at the finish by Many Men in an Ascot handicap last time after making a bold effort from the front and is likely to be in the mix here. Brasil Power was a nice winner of a Class 3 handicap at Wolverhampton. He is now off a career high mark but looks to be suited to this distance.

2.42pm – Respond was an impressive winner in a Class 3 handicap at Chelmsford last time out. He goes up 8lb however making this a much harder task for him and breaks from stall 10. El Burhan won off a mark of 94 at Ayr last time out. He now runs off 100 today but is unexposed over this trip and looks interesting here making his first start on the all-weather Triple Double A won at Newcastle last month after a long break. This will be a tougher test for the Hugo Palmer-trained gelding, but he looks to be going in the right direction.

3:13pm – The fillies’ Listed race looks to be a match between Cathedral and Survie, both who had run respectively in Group One company last season. The latter put up her best performance by far over 1m 4f in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, finishing a highly respectable fourth. Survie has some very decent 10f form and put in a solid performance last time in Riyadh, the drop back to 1 mile should pose no problems with Kempton’s straight sure to benefit.

3:52pm - A tricky looking three-year-old contest where all six runners must be in with a chance. Spinning Lizzie ran well in good company after her comfortable maiden win and is top rated here. Eskimo Pie could well improve markedly forthe step up in trip, she was pretty consistent in decent company last season, and her shrewd trainer will look to bring the best out of her this time around.

4:28pm - King’s Trail and Sin City, who are both entered in the 2000 Guineas, probably hold the key here. Both have the same sort of profile and one all-weather win to their name. This race will look to be a stepping stone to a Classic trial come April. The gelded Conclave was awarded the win on his debut run here after a disqualification to a rival and could well improve again. The front two pulled six lengths clear there and he looks a solid each way bet in this contest.

5:03pm - The sprinters are back for the final race. The hat-trick seeking Fast Track Harry has proved a revelation after being gelded this spring with two Class 2 handicap victories to his name. He drops to a Class 3 here. Tuco Salamanca was in decent form himself this time last year While he is much higher in the weights now, he could well put up a worthy performance. Another hat-trick seeker is Knebworth from the Richard Hughes yard. He has plenty of miles on the clock compared to Fast Track Harry, but again is sure to run a big race.

PLAY SMARTER

A few of these bring potential but George Boughey took this 12 months ago and is taken to repeat the feat with his new recruit SURVIE who holds the edge on form. 2025: NO CORRESPONDING RACE LASTYEAR

Blinkers worn by No 3, 8. Tongue Strap worn by No 1, 4, 5.

Stewards Note:

WILD CLARY: Following its run on 27/9/2025 it was reported that the horse suffered interference.

Probable S.P’s: 10-3 Fast Track Harry (GB), 7-1 Knebworth (GB), 8-1 Durham Castle (GB), 9-1 City Cyclone (GB), 10-1 Stanley Spencer (IRE), 11-1 Seraphim Angel (GB), 12-1 Wild Clary (IRE), 14-1Tuco Salamanca (IRE), Change Sings (IRE), 16-1 Fleetwater (GB), 40-1 Brian (IRE)

This is wide open so at the likely odds it is worth siding with CHANGE SINGS, who ran well when third in this event 12 months ago, to capitalise on a handy-looking mark and garner a third C&D success. Clive Cox’s upwardly-mobile Fast Track Harry heads the list of dangers, while Wild Clary, Knebworth, Tuco Salamanca and City Cyclone all need factoring in too.

TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.CHANGE SINGS (IRE) 2.FASTTRACK HARRY 3.WILD CLARY (IRE)
