WELCOME Wednesday 10th May 2023 Welcome to Kelso Racecourse for a bumper eight-race programme including two divisions of the RBC Brewin Dolphin Handicap Hurdle. Today’s feature race is the Class 3 Bedmax Handicap Steeplechase for which there are six declared runners including the popular Cedar Hill, already a four-time winner over fences at Kelso. One of the defining differences between jump racing and flat racing is the career length of the participants – with many of our favourite jump horses returning to Kelso year after year. It’s one of the reasons why jump racing enthusiasts like to pay special attention to the runners in novice hurdle races and National Hunt flat races: to spot horses to follow for the future. We’re therefore grateful to the connections of all the runners on today’s programme – thank you for choosing to run at Kelso. We wish you an enjoyable afternoon’s sport.
