Welcome back forthe 2025/26 Season

We’re delighted to welcome you back to Huntingdon Racecourse for our JCB Season Opener, marking the start of another exciting Jumps season. My sincere thanks to JCB for their continued support, and to all owners, trainers, racegoers, and staff team joining us today.

It’s been a productive off-season, with ongoing improvements to the site and well-deserved recognition for our hard-working team. We were especially proud to see Groundsman Daniel Hayes win the Richard Linney Award at the 2025 Racecourse Groundstaff Awards - a huge well done to Dan on a fantastic achievement. We’re also delighted to have been shortlisted for The Racing Foundation’s Green Award at the RCA Showcase Awards, recognising our Creating Natures Corridors sustainability and community project.

I’m also pleased to welcome new members of the team: Gregg Taylor (Marketing Consultant), Innes Skinner (Hospitality & Events Executive), and Anna Ramply, who returns as Customer Relations Executive.

Before signing off, please join me in taking a moment to remember Dave Loveridge, a longstanding annual member and loyal supporter of Huntingdon Racecourse who sadly passed away recently Dave was a supportive and friendly presence at the racecourse for a number of years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We hope you enjoy your visit and have a fantastic afternoon at Huntingdon Racecourse. Here’s to a successful day of racing and an exciting season ahead.

DON’T FORGET OUR NEXT MEETINGSUNDAY 2 NOVEMBER THE COMMUNITY RACEDAY

Come celebrate our vibrant local community with us! Enjoy the thrill of jump racing along with a variety of engaging community activities for all ages.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

CARLTON is yet another example of the handiwork of the James Owen yard, winning seven and placed five times from 17 appearances overall (Flat and jumps) for the Newmarket handler, compared to just the one success following 23 runs for his previous stables. He is taken to enhance that tally here, for all that he locks horns with an intriguing handicap debutante in Forcetoreckonwith, who is feared most ahead of On The Go and Rock On Tommy.

CAPTAIN TRIGGER: Following its run on 21/3/2025 it was reported that the horse lost a shoe.

Probable S.P’s: 11-4 Casting Aspersions (IRE), 10-3 Land Girl’s Luck (IRE), 4-1 The Wise Traveller (IRE), 8-1 Indian Sunbird (IRE), 12-1 Chedington’s Guest (GB), 16-1 Fox’s Socks (FR), 18-1 Faerie Cutlass (GB), 22-1 Captain Trigger (GB)

LAND GIRL’S LUCK was left with a bit too much to do when runner-up toThe WiseTraveller at Plumpton just over a fortnight ago, so she’s a relatively straightforward choice to reverse the form on 2lb better terms and come out on top. Casting Aspersions completed a hat-trick in likeable fashion at Market Rasen in June and could still have further improvement in him, while Indian Sunbird is pick of the remainder
