Huntingdon Racecard - Sunday 1st March

Page 1

The Jockey Club would like to thank our Group Partners for their support in 2026

On behalf of everyone here at Huntingdon Racecourse, I am delighted to welcome you to the John Bigg ‘Oxo’ Raceday, an exciting afternoon of National Hunt racing.

As we move closer to the spring festivals, this fixture comes at a pivotal time in the season. Horses and connections are fine-tuning their preparations, and meetings at this stage ofthe campaign often provide both competitive racing and valuable clues for the weeks ahead. We look forward to a high-quality card and an enjoyable day of sport.

We are particularly delighted to welcome our raceday sponsors, CopyBet. Theirvalued support plays an important role in helping us deliver competitive racing and an enjoyable experience for all in attendance. We are pleased to be working with CopyBet not only today but again on 11th March for our Cheltenham from Afar fixture, and we thank them for their backing of racing here at Huntingdon.

Equally exciting is that we will be hosting a special gallop session with trainerJames Owen, who will be bringing the exciting One Big Bang, along with gallopers from Richard Spencer’s yard

We look forward to welcoming them and wish them the best of luck at Cheltenham. Opportunities to see horses ofthis calibre up close are always appreciated, and we are grateful to James and his team for sharing this experience with our racegoers. We hope you enjoy this added feature to the day.

As ever, days such as today would not be possible without the hard work and dedication ofthe entire Huntingdon Racecourse team. My sincere thanks go to all our staff From the grounds team and maintenance to sales, marketing, customer relations, sales service and operations. Whose professionalism and commitment ensure that every fixture runs smoothly and that all ourvisitors receive a warm welcome.

Whether you are a regular supporter or joining us for the first time, we hope you enjoy both the racing and the atmosphere. Thank you for being with us and for your continued support of Huntingdon Racecourse.

Enjoy the afternoon and best wishes from everyone at Huntingdon Racecourse.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:

Belated Happy 65th Birthday to Mr Russell “Frosty” Frost, a true friend and Happy Birthday to Mrs Louise “Frosty” Frost.

We hope you both have a lovely day.

A few of these bring potential, not least Nicky Henderson’s French recruit THEWOODCORNER who scored in taking style at Chepstow last time and can defy a 7lb penalty with that form working out really well. Harry Derham took this 12 months ago and his Musselburgh scorer Gallivanted rates a big threat, while Olly Murphy’s hurdling debutant Chico Magnifica also warrants plenty of respect. Golden Falls completes the shortlist in this competitive juvenile.
