EACH HORSE HAS BEEN GIVEN A STAR RATING, DEFINITION BELOW:
Selected to win the race
Good chance of being placed
By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
More information on the form
- = New racing season
/ = Missed racing season
P = was pulled-up and didn’t finish the race
F = horse fell
U = rider unseated
R = horse refused to race
CO = the horse was forced out of a race by a loose horse
B = horse was brought down
S = horse slipped
r = the horse ran around a jump or took the wrong course in a flat race
D = disqualified
Bold form figures = performance in All-weather (Flat) or point-to-point (Jump) races
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope Can be given little or no chance.
The two main types of bet are win and each-way. For win bets, your horse needs to win the race outright An each-way bet is effectively two bets – one for your horse to win and one for it to be placed. So a £2 each-way bet will cost £4 A bookmaker taking each-way bets will display the terms on which they accept such bets on their board. In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
• Fewer than 3 runners - Win bets only, no places offered
• 3 or 4 runners – Win bets only Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position they may offer place terms at 1/5 odds a place 1-2.
• 5 – 7 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2
• 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
• Handicaps with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive) – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3-4
• Handicaps with 22 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
Shop around for the best odds When you have decided where to place your bet, state the number of your horse and the stake, for example “Number 4, £2 win” Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to their clerk and hand them your money. You will then be given an itemised receipt detailing your bet and potential winnings. You should keep this safe until you have heard ‘Weighedin’ announced after the race If your bet is successful, hand your ticket to the bookmaker and they will give you your winnings

The settlement process for successful bids in selling races has now been updated. Payments for winning bids are processed through the Weatherbys Claim Line within ten minutes of the racecourse auction concluding. After the auction, the auctioneer or racecourse representative will confirm the winning bid amount. The successful bidder must then make payment using a credit or debit card. If the payment cannot be completed in full, the racecourse will annul the sale, and the horse will remain the property of its original owner. This updated process does not apply when the successful bidder is a licensed trainer, or when the horse is bought in by its current owners.
No Claims will be accepted on the racecourse. No additional period is allowed for Friendly Claims.
Registered Owners, Licensed and Permitted trainers may claim by telephone, to Weatherbys on 01933 303080 Such claims must be made within 15 minutes of the start of the race. A BHA Security Code is required (to apply, contact Weatherbys on 01933 440077).
No premium will be payable in the event of unopposed Friendly Claims.
