HEXHAM TEAM

WELCOME E TO HEXHAM

It is good to be racing again following a 6 week break from our August Family Raceday and today’s meeting is the first of 5 before the end of the year culminating in our Christmas Raceday on Wednesday 10th December

Thanks go to the friends and families of all sponsors today together with “Pest Arrest Control North East” and “The Greenhead Hotel” who are returning as sponsors.

The BHA has recently published the 2026 fixture list and am pleased to report that we have been allocated an extra fixture to be run on Tuesday 20th October providing us with 15 meetings next year and Owners & Trainers in the north with more opportunities to run their horses.

When on the racecourse if you require assistance please contact the raceday office situated next to the turnstiles or ask a member of stewarding, catering or racecourse staff who will be only too pleased to assist.

Whether you are visiting the racecourse for a first time or regular racegoer we hope you have an enjoyable and successful day and look forward to seeing you again in the future.

BET TING WITH THE BOOKMAKERS

DIFFERENT WAYS TO BET - WIN OR EACH-WAY

The two main types of bet are win and each-way. For win bets, your horse needs to win the race outright An each-way bet is effectively two bets – one for your horse to win and one for it to be placed. So a £2 each-way bet will cost £4 A bookmaker taking each-way bets will display the terms on which they accept such bets on their board. In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.

• Fewer than 3 runners - Win bets only, no places offered

• 3 or 4 runners – Win bets only Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position they may offer place terms at 1/5 odds a place 1-2.

• 5 – 7 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2

• 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3

• Handicaps with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive) – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3

• Handicaps with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive) – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3-4

• Handicaps with 22 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4

PLACING YOUR BET

Shop around for the best odds When you have decided where to place your bet, state the number of your horse and the stake, for example “Number 4, £2 win” Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to their clerk and hand them your money. You will then be given an itemised receipt detailing your bet and potential winnings. You should keep this safe until you have heard ‘Weighedin’ announced after the race If your bet is successful, hand your ticket to the bookmaker and they will give you your winnings

RACECOURSE DEBUT

TFRHHHHH BHA114 FORM 122-

TIMEFORM VIEW Jukebox Jury gelding who was successful sole start in points last year and has shown plenty of promise in this sphere, going close in novice events at Carlisle and Perth, latterly pulling clear of the rest when touched off by an odds-on shot from the Olly Murphy yard. RACECOURSE DEBUT

TFRHHHHI BHAFORM 421

MYSTICAL MARTIKA: Following its run on 26/2/2025 it was reported that the horse was found to have bled.

Probable S.P’s: 10-11 Spadestep (IRE), 5-2 Frammy (GB), 12-1 Rock Dj (IRE), 16-1 Getaway Frankie (IRE), Captain Ted (IRE), 100-1 Mystical Martika (IRE), 150-1 Mornington Beach (IRE), 200-1 Elusive Warrior (IRE)

It’s likely that former point winner SPADESTEP’s future ultimately lies over fences, but he looks more than capable of making his mark in this sphere in the meantime judged on his close-calls at Carlisle and Perth during the spring. The 6-y-o is taken to make it third time lucky under Rules, with Sedgefield bumper winner Frammy the clear main danger ahead of point-to-point recruits Rock Dj and Captain Ted.

GREAT BRITISH BONUS SCHEME

The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards with breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out bonuses of up to £100,000 per filly And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British Majority funded by the HBLB.

That was his first run following a six-month break, so he’s entitled to come on for it and a 5lb rise looks manageable.
