Good afternoon and welcome to Hamilton Park for our Well-Man Cars Community Raceday.
We have a fantastic afternoon of racing ahead of us, and our thanks go to all of today’s sponsors –Well-Man Cars, Aspire Cleaning & Facilities, The European Breeders Fund, Scottish Racing, Racing TV and our very own on-site Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park Hotel. I hope you and your guests have a most enjoyable day’s racing with us.
Today mark’s our first ever community raceday, kindly supported by Well-Man Cars, where we have reached out to schools, care homes, charities and social groups in the local area to give them the opportunity to enjoy a day of racing here at Hamilton Park with our compliments. We’re incredibly proud to be a part of the community here in Hamilton and the team are committed to supporting local causes in any way we can. I’d also like to thank our catering partners at Sodexo Live! for providing the complimentary tea, coffee and cakes that are on offer to guests in our Community Marquee.
We also have a fantastic “History of Hamilton Park” display showcasing the racecourse’s evolution through the years, taking you through the early years of the racecourse and its establishment on Bothwell Road in 1926, right up to today The display includes a collection of old photographs, gleaming trophies, historic racecards and detailed site maps, all offering a glimpse into the racecourse’s past. The display is open to all so please do take the time to visit the Parade Ring Marquee to take in some of our rich history
On the track today we can expect some close contests, with competitive fields across the card. The Scottish Racing Supporting #Racingwithpride Handicap Stakes at 3.30pm sees three-time course and distance winner Spanish Hustle return to Hamilton Park having finished out of the places on his most recent runs here back in May Also in the field is Jaminoz for our Champion Owner Jimmy Long, who I’m sure will be hoping to pick up some more points having got off the mark for the season with Two Auld Pals on 29 May
With heightened interest in our sport this week due to Royal Ascot, we’ll be showing all the away racing on the screens around the grounds between our own races, so if you fancy a flutter on the action in Berkshire then just head along to any Tote window, the William Hill Betting Shop or the Betting Ring where you’ll be able to place your bets We’ll also be showing this afternoon’s Euro 2024 match between Croatia and Albania in The Hill at 2pm if you’re following the tournament in Germany.
Next week will see the return of our ever-popular Saints & Sinners Racenight, sponsored by Greenversity, where we all come together to enjoy an evening of racing and entertainment from Go Radio whilst raising much needed funds for small, Scottish-based charities. A portion of every ticket sold is donated to the Saints & Sinners Club of Scotland, who then distribute the funds to worthwhile causes, so simply by buying a ticket to attend you are supporting those in need. Advance purchase tickets are available from only £24 at www hamilton-park.co.uk and as always Under 18s get free admission, so I do hope to see some of you again next week.
Have a great afternoon and I hope you back some winners today, whether it be here or at Royal Ascot.
Kind regards,
ASHLEY MOON, RACECOURSE MANAGING DIRECTOR

This is a one mile and five furlongs handicap race for fouryear-olds and upwards which have been rated from 46 to 55. In a handicap the weight that each of the runners carries is determined by their official handicap rating which is based on their level of form shown so far. The aim is to ensure competitive racing by asking the higher rated horses to carry more weight than a lower rated rival. As a guide, horses rated 40 tend to be at the lower end of the scale whilst the very best performers would be rated as high as 130.
Leading course trainer (19-24): J Goldie (40 wins from 367 runners, 11%) runs EPONA PAS and PAMMI Trainer-in-form (last 14 days): J Goldie (3 wins from 25 runners, 12%) runs EPONA PAS and PAMMI Longest Traveller: REAMS OF LOVE trained by D J Jeffreys, Hinton-On-The-Green, 313 miles.

RACE SUMMARY: TWOFORTHEGUTTER certainly wasn’t winning out of turn here a fortnight ago but up 3lb in another handicap lacking strength in depth, the follow up may well be forthcoming, Crystal Guard also got it right last time and is the obvious threat.

RACE DESCRIPTION
This race is a five furlongs maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.
Leading course trainer (19-24): J Goldie (40 wins from 367 runners, 11%) runs JOSHUAS DREAM

about SIX FURLONGS (6f abt 6yds) (1200m)
RACE DESCRIPTION
This race is a six furlongs maiden stakes for two-year-olds. Maiden races provide a starting point for young horses that are yet to record a victory and most will be very lightly-raced or be making their racecourse debuts. Previous experience can count for a lot when searching for the winner but well-bred or precocious juveniles are more than capable of landing the prize at the first time of asking.

ONE MILE about THREE FURLONGS (11f abt 15yds) (2200m) 3.30pm
This is a one mile and three furlongs handicap race for four-year-olds and upwards which have been rated from 51 to 70. This rating then dictates the weight to be carried in a handicap In simple terms a horse rated 70 in this particular race would be required to carry 5lb more than a rival rated 65.

ONE MILE about 68 YARDS (8f abt 68yds) (1600m) 4.10pm
This is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds only which have been rated from 49 to 68. Once a horse has qualified for a handicap rating this is regularly reassessed. A below-par effort could result in a reduced rating whilst a strong performance could see the rating increased. Occasionally, horses are entered to race before their handicap rating has been reviewed and so to avoid recent winners being un-penalised they are allotted a mandatory

RACE DESCRIPTION
This is a one mile handicap race for three-year-olds and upwards fillies and mares only which have been rated from 51 to 70. Like most handicaps on the flat this race is also open to horses that are rated below that particular band. However, all handicaps stipulate a minimum weight and no runner can carry less than that, irrespective of how low their rating is. This is often described as ‘running from out of the handicap’ and is considered a disadvantage
