BETTING EXPLAINED

Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number

Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.

‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.

‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.

Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.

Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.

Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

How the experts rate the horse’s chances:

THE PADSTER: Following its run on 1/1/2026 it was reported that the horse slipped on the bend.

SENOR DIAZ: Following its run on 7/4/2026 it was reported that the horse made a bad mistake.

The vote goes to CELTIC QUEEN, who attracted support ahead of her improved handicap debut third at Hereford and a subsequent 3lb drop in the weights looks rather generous. Monsun Climate may also take a step forward now pitched into a handicap and is next on the list ahead of Prized Jet, who hasn’t shown much for this yard but has slipped to a dangerous mark. Prairie Queen also enters calculations.
