Timeform Rating
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.
You must be 18 or over to place a bet
You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet
If you cannot produce this your bet will not be accepted

PIERCHIC failed to threaten the winner when third at Wolverhampton on debut. Saying that, the daughter of Palace Pier was doing her best work in the closing stages and has to be of interest here with that experience under her belt. Neat And Tidy debuted in a tougher contest at Newbury in September and could feature at this level having subsequently switched yards. Accommodation, So Regal and Let Her Go are newcomers to note.

SNOW LIGHT left her moderate debut effort behind when beaten only a head at Kempton last month. Charlie Appleby’s filly finished clear of the rest in second and looks set to launch another bold bid with further improvement on the cards. Pretty Ambitious drops back in trip with a shout after going close over a mile here, while the 150,000gns purchase Buckland Belle is a newcomer worthy of consideration.

The unexposed Gemmari made a fairly pleasing return at Kempton last month and this longer trip has threatened to suit for a while now Richard Hannon’s gelding merits the utmost respect, especially in these calmer waters, although the vote goes to AN BRADAN FEASA. AN BRADAN FEASA scored twice over hurdles in the autumn before recording a very good fourth at Southwell so edges the vote now stepping back up in distance. Gemmari could prove the chief danger if, as expected, building on his recent Kempton fifth after an absence, while Saratoga Gold also needs considering in his bid to end a lengthy losing sequence.

There was plenty of encouragement to be drawn from MADRIGAL MOMENT’s most recent effort. Third over C&D without ever really looking likely to win, she has fewer blemishes on her record than many of these and with Toby Moore taking off a handy 7lb, she can take another step forward. Spring tackles a mile for the first time and the addition of cheekpieces could also see her in a better light. Handicap debutant Rogue Identity warrants close inspection too.

Pinjarra and Calafrio were comfortable winners last time out, but they’re both drawn wider than ideal and CARLTON AND CO was impressive latest too. Lewis Chalkley got a good tune out of the mare that day and, despite having a penalty to shoulder this time, she might be hard to reel in. Up The Monk had an excuse at Wolverhampton and it would be unwise to write off Sir Rodneyredblood, who has eight course wins to his name.

A competitive handicap could go the way of TYCOON. Less exposed than most of today’s rivals, the son of Kingman has been gelded since finishing a respectable sixth at York in September, and his yard has been among the winners in the past week. Bragbor has solid claims having just missed out at Newcastle recently, while the progressive King’s Code just got the better of Londoner when scoring at Kempton and that pair are hard to separate.

Tongue Strap worn by No. 4, 7, 11 Sheepskin Cheek Pieces worn by No. 2, 4. Stewards Note:
PARLANDO: Following its run on 8/11/2025 it was reported that the horse returned lame and was struck into.
Probable S.P’s: 9-2 Diego El Queso (IRE), 11-2 Race To The Stars (IRE), 9-1 Londoner (IRE), 11-1 Bragbor (GB), 12-1 King’s Code (GB), Parlando (GB), Sheikh Raj (IRE), 14-1 Whitcombe Rockstar (GB), 16-1 Andaleep (IRE), Tycoon (GB), 25-1 Ouzo (GB), 33-1 Storm Catcher (IRE), 40-1 Bystander (IRE)
PLAY SMARTER
Unsurprisingly, a competitive affair given the relatively valuable pot on offer DIEGO EL QUESO arrives on the up for Ger Lyons and is completely unexposed over this distance. He gets the vote ahead of Londoner, who has been admirably consistent returned to middle distance handicaps and could be the main danger if first-time blinkers (replacing cheekpieces) have the desired effect. Parlando shaped much better than the result over 1m last time and looks interesting, especially if supported.

CITY SELECTIONS
Eliza Bennet found one too good yet again when failing to land the odds at Kempton. Blinkers are applied in the hope of improvement, but the newcomer WHY NOT ME may prove above average. Stuart Williams’ filly is a half-sister to the Irish Oaks heroine You Got To Me and any strong support for the daughter of Time Test could point to a big run. Savannah Grey might prove best of the remainder

CITY SELECTIONS A narrow winner at Newcastle a week ago, KINDEST NATION found plenty for pressure in the final furlong and may well have won by further with a clear run. Toby Moore’s allowance negates her 5lb penalty and she could go in again. Stratocracy wasn’t beaten far when third at Wolverhampton and will likely shape well off an unchanged mark. McKenna is another to consider with last month’s reappearance run under his belt.

RED MIRAGE is a consistent performer and dual C&D winner who should be more competitive back at this track after suffering interference at Kempton last time. Stratocracy shaped better than the beaten distance suggests at Wolverhampton recently, racing wide but keeping on well. Revolutionise won this race last year and has three C&D wins to his name.
