Bumper winner IT’S TOP made an encouraging start in this discipline at Newbury last month and can be expected to improve on that. He gets the nod in the opener Lasko des Obeaux looks the chief threat on form, whilst Thorneylands showed plenty of ability when runner-up on bumper debut at Newcastle and will be dangerous if taking to hurdling.

GREAT BRITISH BONUS SCHEME

The Great British Bonus (GBB) incentivises and rewards with breeding, buying and racing of British-bred fillies by paying out bonuses of up to £100,000 per filly And now with GBBPlus to further incentivise staying fillies and chasing mares, there are more reasons than ever to breed, buy and race British. Majority funded by the HBLB.

EACH-WAY BETTING TERMS

3 or 4 runners: all to win Where a bookmaker wishes to depart from this default position he may offer place terms for 3 or 4 runners, this must be at 1/5 odds a place 1-2

5 to 7 runners (inclusive): 1/4 (one quarter) odds for finishing 1st or 2nd

8 or more runners: 1/5 odds for finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd

Handicap races with 12 to 15 runners (inclusive): 1/4 odds for finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd

Handicap races with 16 to 21 runners (inclusive): 1/5 odds for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th

Handicap races with 22 or more runners: 1/4 odds for finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th

The percentage figure in brackets after the race details is the favourite’s ‘strike rate’ in the race for the last ten years. Trainers who have won the race before are also highlighted if they had an entry at the final declaration stage.

Inhandicapraces,horsesthathavewonbeforeoffthesameorlowerratingwillbeflaggedas‘well-handicapped’ – racecard numbers only are given below.

SMART DECISION has won 5 of 8 starts and although foiled in his hat-trick bid at Haydock 17 days ago, he recorded another personal best. He looks the answer, though Medieval Gold won over C&D in November and despite being up 7lb, further success can’t be ruled out with a first-time tongue strap applied for his new yard Haarar produced a career best when winning at Haydock so also commands respect.
