The first race is the Alfa Aggregates Maiden Hurdle Race at 1:07pm, with a prize of £10,000 Later in the day, at 3:20pm, we have our feature race of the day, The Virgin Bet Supports Safe Gambling Handicap Hurdle Race, worth £30,000. The final race of the day is The Tom Jones Live at Chester Racecourse Handicap Hurdle Race at 4:30pm.

HOW TO BET WITH A RACECOURSE BOOKMAKER
WAYS TO BET
STRAIGHT EACH WAY
Win only A bookmaker taking each way bets will display the terms on which he/she accepts such bets on the top of his/her board. This is a bet for your selection to win or be placed.
STANDARD TERMS FOR EACH WAY BETTING
In conjunction with The RCA, the bookmakers have introduced standard each-way terms. Bookmakers will provide these terms, or better, when offering each-way betting.
· Fewer than 5 runners – all to win
5-7 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2
· 8 or more runners – 1/5 odds a place 1-2-3
Handicaps with 12-15 runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3
· Handicaps with 16 or more runners – 1/4 odds a place 1-2-3-4
AWAY BETTING
Many bookmakers will also take bets at the other race meetings today. They offer a comprehensive service, including bets settled TAX FREE at Starting Price (S.P.)
BETTING WITHOUT THE FAVOURITE
At reduced odds you can back a horse and collect if it wins or runs second to the horse nominated by the bookmaker as favourite.
PLACING YOUR BET
Shop around for the best odds against your selection. When you have decided on where to place your bet, state the number of your chosen horse and the stake, for example “number 4, £2 win”. Listen to the bookmaker repeat the number of the horse and the stake to his/her clerk and hand your stake to the bookmaker You will then be given an itemised receipt that gives details of the bet and shows potential winnings. You should keep this ticket safe.
COLLECTING YOUR WINNINGS
If your selection wins (or, in the case of a place bet, is placed), hand the ticket back to the bookmaker for settlement. NEVER destroy your ticket until after the “Weighed In” announcement has been made. There may still be a Stewards’ Enquiry and the first past the post, or placed horses, may be disqualified. On rare occasions even the horse coming fourth has been awarded the race You may bet with confidence with any bookmaker as they have all been approved by the Administration of Gambling on Tracks Ltd, which administers the betting rings at each of Britain’s 60 racecourses. The AGT also offers a full late pay service, in case a bookmaker leaves the course before you have collected your winnings. The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

Virgin Bet Raceday Preview
1.07pm - This looks like a good opportunity for the Jamie Snowden trained Tommy Pickles to get off the mark under rules. He won a Point to Point easily last year and has been placed on his last three runs. The drying ground might be a slight concern, however. Mossy Fen Coolio finished 4th behind Porquoi Pas Papa at Wincanton in January. The form of that race has worked out well and today looks like an easier opportunity. He won an Irish Point to Point on yielding ground so today’s conditions should suit. Double Indemnity ran a good 2nd against a short price favourite at Carlisle last month. He steps up in trip today, but this should not be an issue.
1.37pm - All 7 runners come here with plenty to prove from their previous run. Karma Police was well beaten by runaway winner, Guchen at Newbury but looks somewhat interesting now stepping up in trip. Gwennie May Star makes his first run since joining the Christian Williams yard. He won a class 4 handicap at Warwick in January but nevertravelled in his last race when pulled up at Haydock. Benign Dictator gets first time blinkers, but an improvement is needed for him to get involved off top weight. Gentleman Bill was 3 ¾ lengths behind Jordans Cross at Aintree last year. Things have not worked out so well in recent starts, but his revised mark of 119 makes his chances more appealing.
2.15pm - The Virgin Bet Handicap Chase over three miles, twenty-two pounds separates top and bottom weight. This looks like a good opportunity for Bo Cruz to complete the hat-trick for Donald McCain at his local track. A rise of ten pounds since his last win in February shouldn’t stop this lightly raced seven-year-old progress further. Joyeux Machin looks good for the forecast with conditional jockey Harry Atkins taking off a valuable seven pounds.
2.45pm - A tricky looking class five handicap hurdle over three miles will take some getting at this undulating track. The lightly raced Kastellion looks to be the answer, campaigned mainly at two and half miles to date Sent off 5/2 favourite last time he was doing all his best work late on, so the further step up in trip should present a good opportunityto get offthe mark. Greedy Smith for the inform O’Neill yard could spring a surprise at a nice price.
3.20pm - Static might be the pick of the lot here, winning well over the same distance earlier this month and is much younger than most of his rivals. Magistrato comes back to hurdles after a successful 2025 chasing that included 3 wins in a row between August and October, so it looks as though he won’t be able to keep with the pace here but still could have a big say in this race Knickerbockerglory has been off his best form lately and may prefer softer ground, but Dan Skelton will know better than most how to get a tune out of him today.
3.55pm - Paddys Policy has had 2 runs since a wind op last year which saw 2 good performances but it looked as though he had more to give, a step up in trip here will suit him better Epinephrine is coming on the better form, recently finishing 3rd and 4th under Charlie Deutsch, who has the honours again today, and is one that also looks better suited to the good ground we are predicted to have today. DJ Pete can also have a big say, aiming to rewind back to the success he saw at Ffos Las in February
4.30pm - Our final race is the Tom Jones Live at Chester Racecourse Handicap Hurdle. Welsh Trainer Tim Vaughan’s only contender in this contest is Golden Identity, who has had 3 good performances since a wind op last year and has every chance to finish strongly on the green grass ofhome. Last year’s race was won by the Greenall & Guerriero team, so it’s not unusual to see their 5-yearold gelding Joeybottles make his Bangor debut and he could be one for the future. The lone mare in this race, Love Me, could be a threat. Winless since November 2024, but she’s a lady who can cause an upset today.
TIMEFORM VIEW Sent chasing this term and scored at Exeter in December but she didn’t look a natural and got back on the up returned to hurdling when winning 4-runner listed event at Warwick last month. Not taken lightly despite conceding weight all round.

Lord Snootie has shaped as if still short of peak fitness in two starts this season, having spent over 400 days off the track. The nine-yearold looks well-treated from a mark of 119 on prior form however, having finished runner-up in a strong edition of the three-mile handicap hurdle at Aintree’s Grand National Meeting in 2024 off 125. The sole mare in the field, Pinot Rouge, should appreciate a return to a sounder surface here having scored impressively over this trip at Hexham in the summer and she has now dropped below that last winningmark.

BETTING RING MANAGER
The Betting Ring Managers Inspection Pitch is located in the Tattersalls Enclosure, (please see racecourse map). He will be available in each enclosure to assist in any betting dispute.
GENERAL
All badges, car park labels and hospitality packages are sold subject to these terms and conditions.
FORCE MAJEURE
1 The company shall not be liable to the racegoer for any failure or omission or breach caused by an event or events beyond the control of the company such as but not limited to war, civil disturbance, order of a Government Ministry or department or public authority, fire, flood, natural catastrophe, royal demise, labour dispute, lock-out, withdrawal of labour or breakdown or interruption of services or transport (public or otherwise) or death or illness of a key person.
1.1 Upon the happening of such an event the obligations of the company and any period of time then running shall be suspended for the period of the event plus such time as may be required to resume normality.
1.2 Such an event shall not entitle the racegoer to take any steps against the company for breach or to terminate the agreement or otherwise
PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE RACEMEETING
2 Where badges, car park labels or hospitality packages are sold for a specified area of the Racecourse, the Company will use its best endeavours to ensure that the specified area is available for use at the specified time If however the specified area cannot be used, for reasons not within the control of the Company, then the Company shall be entitled to offer a reasonable alternative. If no alternative is offered by the Company the customer will be entitled to a full refund of all monies received from him or her by the Company.
3 Refunds, other than those covered by clause 2 immediately above will not be considered unless badges/labels are returned to the racecourse, not less than 7 days prior to the race meeting and successfully resold. All refunds will be subject to an administration charge of 15% of the total refund.
ONCE THE RACE MEETING HAS COMMENCED
4 The climbing of fences, stands or any other buildings is forbidden.
5 Any person failing to comply with instructions from a steward or police officer may be ejected from the Racecourse.
6 Please observe the designated no drinking areas. Alcoholic beverages must not be carried to or consumed in these areas.
7 Amateur photography is accepted but only without flash equipment.
8 Portable telephones may not be used anywhere on the Racecourse for betting purposes. Flags, banners and other articles and any behaviour such as drunkenness, abusive conduct, singing or shouting which may constitute an annoyance to spectators or distract or frighten the horses are prohibited.
9 Transfers between enclosures may be possible on the day, subject to availability.
10 Parking or setting down on the site is prohibited, other than at the official car parks.
11 Lost or stolen badges will not be replaced.
12 Hospitality badges are sold on the understanding that no money in respect of unused badges will be reimbursed.
13 Subject to the provisions of clause 1 which shall prevail over this clause, in the event of abandonment before racing, or up to the “Weighed-In” of the first race there will be a full refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment after the “Weighed-In” of the first race up to the “Weighed-In” of the third race or nominated feature race, whichever is later there will be a 50% refund of badge and car parking costs. In the event of abandonment thereafter there will be no refunds. No cash refunds to be paid on the day. All refunds to be administered after the meeting by post. Where any customer is entitled (pursuant to clause 13) to any refund, in order to qualify for such refund the customer must follow the procedure listed opposite:
13.1 Make a note of the reference numbers of all badges and car park labels (these numbers will be found on the front of each badge or label).

13.2 Send the badges, and/or labels along with a covering letter stating the full name and address of the sender and, if different from that of sender, the full name and address of the purchaser of the badges or labels to: Refund Office, Chester Race Company Limited, The Racecourse, Chester, CH1 2LY. To be valid, requests for refunds must be received in writing within one month of the abandoned raceday. The Company shall have no responsibility or liability of any nature in respect of any refund request received after that time.
14 All persons visiting the Racecourse are admitted subject to these Regulations and to the Rules of Racing. The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to/or to remove from the Racecourse, in its absolute discretion and without giving any reasons, any person failing to comply with such Rules and Regulations or whose presence is, in its absolute discretion, a source of danger or annoyance and shall have no obligation to give any reason therefore.
15 The Company shall in no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense or any consequential or indirect loss or damage of any kind.

16 The Horserace Betting Levy Board prize fund schemes provide for the estimated inclusion of £117,324 in ratecard and incremental prize money at this racecourse from 1st January to 27th March 2026.

18 Bangor Racecourse has enhanced Safety & Security measures to ensure your safety, comfort and enjoyment of the day. However, an incident may occur which is beyond our control and it is important that you are aware of how we intend to look after you in the event of an emergency.
We employ professionally trained and experienced stewards who are located predominantly around the course and are identifiable by their uniform.
In the event of a situation that requires partial or full evacuation of the stands or racecourse, announcements will be broadcast and stewards will undertake the responsibility of ushering you to a place of safety; it is essential that you follow their instructions. Please take your immediate belongings with you and proceed out of the area quickly and calmly with the guidance of the stewards.
