CAP MO VES AHEAD INTO THE 1980’s G IF T W IT H O U T A B O W I f I could give a gift to everyone I know, Here ’sju st afew I ’d give, unwrapped without a bow. The blind man on the corner tapping with his cane, I ’d give the gift o f sight, then he could see the rain. The crippled boy down the street watching the children play, I ’d give him two strong legs, so he could run all day. The widow in her lonely room sitting all alone, I ’d bring a lovingfamily, someone her very own. Next I ’d gather the starving millions who ’ve not a bite to eat, A nd spread a banquet table, loaded down with fruits and meat. After that I ’d fin d all those who live with pain each day, I ’d touch each one with healing balm, and make it go away. Then last not least I ’d light the way fo r all the world to see, A nd hand in hand lead them to Christ, who diedfor you andme. You say to me, ‘ ‘y ou ’re dreaming this could never be! ’ ’ You ’re right not in this life . . . But there’s a calmer sea. Jesus can provide the gift of sight and more, I f we obey H is teaching, w e’ll cross to the other shore. @ 1979 Mary M . Domstead 425 N . 19th Street Duncan, Oklahoma
