‘Unruly Desires: Reframing the Past’ presents work by artists Sunil Gupta and Charan Singh, and features Gupta’s ‘New PreRaphaelite series and Singh’s The Promise of Beauty’ series.
Through the photographic studio portrait, both Gupta and Singh explore and disrupt ideas relating to the canon of western art, queerness, the gaze, love and intimacy. The exhibition will feature new work created by both artists within the Pump Rooms spaces inspired by objects and pictures from the Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum Collection.

We’re facing a nature crisis, but there’s hope. This exhibition explores how people in the past lived more sustainably, using less stuff, less energy, and making space for nature. These examples from history can inspire us to make positive changes today. Hear from scientists, environmentalists and local changemakers, and find out how we, as individuals and communities, can make a difference.

Royal Pump Rooms
A 3-day celebration of Polish music, culture, heritage, and food in Royal Leamington Spa, presenting world-class artists, a new musical commission, and community activities that bring Polish and local communities together through shared experiences.
Across 7 exciting events, the Polish and British-Polish artists in residence for the weekend are: Ćwiżewicz Brothers violin duo, Łukasz Krupiński piano, Krystyna Osostowicz violin (leader of the Brodsky Quartet), and the Royal String Quartet.
We will learn about ‘The Genius of Chopin’ in an illustrated talk from Professor John Rink (Emeritus Professor of Music at the University of Cambridge) and we will also sample Polish folk music from Karolina Węgrzyn and her band. Full details and tickets on www.leamingtonmusic.org

The Royal Spa Centre and the Royal Pump Rooms are a 3-minute walk from each other, situated in the town centre of Leamington Spa.
There is a lift and accessible toilets on all floors.

Royal Spa Centre:
T The Main Stage is equipped with an infra-red hearing enhancement system for use with headsets or portable induction loop. Our cinema uses Dolby accessibility units, which are all available free of charge from the Box Office.
Wheelchair spaces are available and should be booked in advance by calling the Box Office.
There is wheelchair access throughout the building, including toilets.
The museum is on 2 levels, accessible by chairlift and stairs.
