ARTIST PROFILES

Aaron Trumbore is a percussionist, educator, conductor, and percussion small-business owner from Carlisle, PA. Through performance and education, Aaron shares his passion for the arts with students and audiences throughout the mid-Atlantic region and around the country. He has performed with The Harrisburg Symphony, Symphony in C, Opera Philadelphia, Vox Amadeus, The Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, The Shippensburg Festival Orchestra, The Curtis Institute Symphony Orchestra, The McCormick Marimba Festival (Tampa, FL), and at Percussive Arts Society International Conventions in Austin, TX and Indianapolis, IN. Aaron currently serves as Percussion Faculty at James Madison University. He earned his Bachelor of Music Performance degree from West Chester University where he studied with Dr. Ralph Sorrentino and Dr. Chris Hanning. Aaron completed his graduate studies at Temple University where he was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship and earned his Master of Music Performance degree while studying with Alan Abel and Chris Deviney of The Philadelphia Orchestra. As a co-owner of Artifact Percussion, Aaron focuses on providing students and professionals with handmade sticks and mallets produced at Artifact’s small shop in Carlisle, PA. As a clinician, Aaron has discussed entrepreneurship at universities throughout the United States and around the world. Aaron is sponsored by Pearl/Adams Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, and Grover Pro Percussion.

Abigail Walton is an active percussionist based in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Beginning her studies on piano at a young age, she later felt drawn towards the dynamic energy of percussion, especially mallet and keyboard percussion. Abby recently performed the second movement of Nathan Daughtrey’s Concerto for Vibraphonewith the West Chester University (WCU) Wind Symphony as their 2025Concerto Competition winner ,and she was awarded first place in the collegiate division of Penn State University’s January 2025 Marimba Competition . Abby was named a co -winner of the collegiate division of the Newark (DE) Symphony Orchestra’s November 2025 Concerto Competition, and she will perform Na than Daughtrey’s Concerto for Vibraphone with the Newark Symphony Orchestra in May 2026. Additionally, Abby recently advanced to the December 2025 final round of the WCU Symphony Orchestra’s Concerto Competition. Abby also enjoys her time as an ensemble member in various WCU ensembles, including Percussion Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. Outside of WCU, she can occasionally be spotted performing with local community ensembles such as the Chester County Pops Orchestra. Passionate about education and pedagogy, Abby teaches at Mosaic Music Lessons i n her hometown of Phoenixville and as part of WCU’s Community Music Program. Her other love is for research, seen through her participation in WCU’s 2024 Summer Undergraduate Research Institute (SURI) under the guidance of faculty mentor Dr. Mark Rimple. Her research interests include historically inf ormed performance practice, gesture and movement in instrumental performance, and feminist musicology. Abby is currently in her final year of undergraduate studies for Instrumental Performance at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where she presently studies with Dr. Ralph Sorrentino and Professor Chandler Beaugrand. She is grateful to all who have supported her throughout her musical journey.
