Community Impact Alliance Brings Faith Leaders and Nonprofits Together By Shatika Parker

WHITE PLAINS, NY — September 2, 2026 — Westchester County Legislator Jewel Williams Johnson convened a dynamic Community Impact Alliance gathering Tuesday in conjunction with the Ministers Fellowship Council of White Plains and Vicinity at Calvary Baptist Church, bringing together faith leaders and representatives from a broad cross-section of Westchester nonprofit and community-based organizations for an afternoon centered on listening, resource sharing and collaboration. With many clergy members already assembled through the Ministers Fellowship Council and the remainder of the room filled with nonprofit representatives, the gathering provided a unique opportunity to connect

two groups that are often responding to the very same community needs— but do not always have an opportunity to work together face-to-face. Following introductions, faith leaders opened the discussion by sharing what they are hearing directly from congregants and families. Among the concerns raised were the need for more affordable housing; an economy that allows young people to remain in Westchester after completing college; protections, information and assistance for immigrant families; stronger community outreach, networking and communications; and greater assistance for churches—particularly Black churches—in iden-
