This was just one of multiple references by Isaiah to God’s plan to send a saviour for humanity. The term the Bible uses for saviour is Messiah. Isaiah’s prophecy of the Messiah was of someone who was both God and man, king and servant, ruler and sacrifice It would be hundreds of years before anyone could begin to understand exactly how these seemingly conflicting identities fit together in the person of Jesus Christ At Christmas we celebrate Jesus’ birth, God’s gift to the world. That is why gift-giving is such a significant part of this time of year.

ENDINGS LEAD TO NEW BEGINNINGS
Endings bring new beginnings, and as with anything new, a sense of change brings with it many possibilities Excitement and anticipation, along with pressure and wonderings about the unknown, might leave us feeling unsettled.
Our Prep children have enjoyed a year of growing and developing within an early learning setting, whilst experiencing exposure to transition to Kindergarten opportunities. Throughout the year, the Educators and Teachers have worked closely with each child to foster their developing self-regulation, to support their social and environmental interactions, and to build a strong sense of security
Evidence based research informs us that these three elements best equip children for school and life success We also understand from a wide body of research, that continuity of learning, along with relationships, underpin high quality and smooth transitions.
Our Prep School benefits greatly from its place within the wider School community, which enables continuity in relationships and access to whole school learning programs and environments from Prep to Year 12
Endings bring transition and transition is an opportunity to stretch developing skills into new realms, to build new relationships and strengthen current ones, and to start fresh As we reflect on a year ending, and consider new beginnings, this might be a wonderful moment to consider a fresh start and a fresh look at the person of Jesus Christ and His offer of peace with God

PREP CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION
Our Prep students enjoyed a joyful end of year celebration filled with music, smiles and special moments Families were treated to musical items that showcased the growing confidence of our youngest learners, with a special highlight being a delightful staff video rendition of ‘Where Is the Green Sheep’ that had everyone laughing and joining in. Mrs Larrea presented each child with their artwork and a small gift, adding to the excitement The evening finished with a sausage sizzle and plenty of time to connect as a community, creating a warm and memorable end to a wonderful year in Prep.

OZ ROCKS TIMES TABLE ROCK STARS RESULTS
Our Years 3 to 6 students took part in the nationwide Oz Rocks Times Tables Competition over three busy days and achieved fantastic results.
WCCS placed 11th for average score out of 694 schools and 1st overall with more than one million correct answers! Well done to our top performing classes 4HF, 5DM and 3MF

SHARING CHRISTMAS JOY
This week, our Primary students added their class baubles to the Christmas Tree in the Primary Quad, each one showing the amount their class has raised to support those in need this Christmas. It has been wonderful to see generosity on display as we work together to bless others.

YEAR 10 TEXTILES
Our Year 10 Textiles students have created beautifully crafted corsets as part of their recent design project. Each piece was inspired by a chosen theme, fairytale or story, allowing students to explore creativity, storytelling and technical sewing skills The finished garments showcase impressive detail and imagination, reflecting the hard work and dedication of the class
CAPES 4 KIDS
Our Year 10 Textiles students have used their creativity to make a meaningful difference. This year, they crafted bright and uplifting superhero capes that have been donated to children in hospital through Capes 4 Kids Australia Inc.
These special capes offer comfort, courage and a moment of joy for young patients navigating challenging circumstances. Thank you to our students and teachers for their kindness and dedication in bringing this project to life, and to Capes 4 Kids Australia for partnering with us to encourage children who need it most.
Our Year 6 students worked together to pack a generous collection of Operation Christmas Child boxes, each one thoughtfully prepared to bring joy to a child this Christmas A special mention goes to Year 2 student, Micah, who packed an incredible 20 boxes on his own
