Staying Sharp Camp The goal of Staying Sharp Camp is to keep children engaged in the learning process during summer break. At the end of camp, parents will receive tools to keep the process going until school begins.
During Staying Sharp Camp, students will review math, phonics and penmanship. Fine motor skills will be honed using a Smartboard, drills, songs, games and hands-on manipulatives.
Grade/Age Staying Sharp Camp is for kids entering K5 or 1st Grade in the fall.

WCA Head Football Coach, Vinnie Bullara Vinnie Bullara is a 1991 graduate of Belmont Academy (Opelousas, LA). Coach Bullara earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Pre-Med Biology from USL in 1996, and his Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix in 2010. Coach Bullara is entering his 2nd year as Westminster’s head coach, and his 19th year of coaching overall. He began his coaching career at Westminster in 1997, and after stops at Christian Life Academy, Acadiana Prep, and St. Thomas More, he returned to Westminster in 2010. He has coached on staffs that have won district championships in 1A, 2A and 5A divisions. In 18 years of coaching, he has coached over a dozen players who have played college football, and 5 who have played in the NFL.

WCA Head Baseball Coach, Barry Manuel
Barry is a graduate of Louisiana State University and has played professional baseball for fourteen years. He split time in the minor and major leagues with the Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Montreal Expos, New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks. In Arizona, Barry had the honor of being on the organization’s big-league opening day roster for their inaugural season. His pro career also took him to Japan for a year to play for the Seibu Lions of the Japanese major leagues. He ended his pitching career as a player-coach for the Lafayette Bayou Bullfrogs and has coached the Alexandria Aces of the Texas-Louisiana League. While playing at LSU, Barry was known as the “Terminator.” He set an LSU record for the most saves in a season and in a career, and the record for the most consecutive strike-outs. He was a Division I NCAA All-American pitcher in 1986 and 1987 before being signed by the Texas Rangers in the second round of the amateur draft.

Campers will learn how to use their creativity to make unique, one-of-a-kind crafts. They will also learn about the basic elements of art and apply what they learn to make unique artwork for display at home. Campers can expect to work with: • Sand • Fabric • Rocks • Canvas • Paint • Paper collage • Dye • And other materials in both 2 and 3-dimensional artworks
