DIRECTOR’S REPORT

ESMUND VAN WYK

The Peninsula Cricket Festival has once again delivered exciting cricket, with Wynberg facing a challenging start against strong Affies 1st XI and U15A teams. These matches have been a wake-up call for our boys, testing their skills and character.

U15A

Niyaaz Allie led the charge with a blistering 54 runs, followed by Liam Nell's 71* and Zach Arends' 107, steering the U15A boys to their first victory of the week. The team bounced back from losses to Hilton College and Waterkloof, with solid performances against Potch Gymnasium. Fuad Schroeder and Jack Kelly took wickets, while Niyaaz Allie and Zach Arends showed steady batting.

1st XI

After tough defeats against Affies and St Charles, the 1st XI stood up in true Supera Moras spirit, claiming three hard-fought victories against Hilton, Waterkloof, and Potch Gymnasium. Matthew Saunders and Fawaaz Hendricks consistently put the team in demanding positions, followed by explosive boundary hitting from Michail Tarentaal, Qaeed Shaik, and Josh Prince. The team showed cool performances under pressure, with Hugo Norambuena and Chad Campbell securing a notable victory against Waterkloof.

Key Performances

Damien Harris led the seam attack well Noah Du Plooy was outstanding, taking 4 wickets against St Charles College and 7/34 against Hilton Nicholas Stafford and Fawaaz Hendricks supported the bowling attack

Looking Ahead

I'm excited about the possibilities for our 1st XI this year. We have a new team, but they've shown they can battle with the best. The best is yet to come I believe

The exciting thing about the year starting with cricket is how it brings players, coaches and families together, enjoying the groundbreaking performances that establish the confidence these boys will take into their lives. Making lasting memories together whilst battling for school pride.
