PRESENTATIONS
For all age groups take place immediately after Game 57, the U19 Cup Final, at approximately 14h15.
1. GENERAL RULES
TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS
1.1 Match Duration
• All matches will consist of two halves of 25 minutes running time for U15, U17 and U19.
• Half-time interval: 3 minutes.
1.2 Injuries
• The clock will continue to run for injuries.
• Players requiring treatment must leave the field unless the referee deems the injury serious.
• Play will be stopped immediately for suspected head injuries.
1.3 Player Eligibility
• Players must be of the correct age group (U15, U17, U19).
• Younger players may play up an age group.
• Players may NOT play down an age group.
• Once registered, a player may not play for another team or age group.
• Each team is advised to register two goalkeepers.
1.4 Squad Size and Substitutions
• Maximum squad size: 18 players.
• Six (6) substitutions permitted per match.
• No rolling substitutions allowed.
• A substituted player may not return to the field of play.
1.5 Late Arrival
• Teams arriving more than five (5) minutes late will forfeit the match.
• A 2–0 result will be awarded to the opposition.
• If a team arrives within five minutes, time will be deducted from the first half.
1.6 Equipment
• Shin pads are compulsory. No shin pads – no play.
• No jewellery may be worn during matches.
1.7 Kit Clash
• The away team must change kit in the event of a clash.
• Bibs will be provided if an alternative kit is unavailable.
1.8 Technical Area
• Coaches and substitutes must remain in the technical area.
• Players on the bench must remain seated.
• Warming up is only permitted at Silverhurst Fields.
• No warming up on main tournament fields or surrounding areas.
1.9 Substitution Procedure
• Coaches must notify the assistant referee.
• Substitutions may only occur with referee permission during a stoppage.
2. TOURNAMENT FORMAT
2.1 Under 15
• Four groups (A–D)
• Five teams per group
• 1st & 2nd: Cup Quarterfinals
• 3rd: Plate
• 4th: Bowl
2.2 Under 17
• Four groups (A–D)
• Four teams per group
• 1st & 2nd: Cup Quarterfinals
• 3rd: Plate
• 4th: Bowl
2.3 Under 19
• Four groups (A–D)
• Five teams per group
• 1st & 2nd: Cup Quarterfinals
• 3rd & 4th: Plate
• 5th: Bowl
2.4 No positional playoffs will be played outside of Cup, Plate, and Bowl finals except for the THIRD PLACE BRONZE MEDAL (Losers of the TWO Semifinals play for THIRD place).
3. POINTS SYSTEM
• Win – 3 points
• Draw – 1 point
• Loss – 0 points
If teams are level on points:
Goal difference
Head-to-head result
Disciplinary record (least cards)
Penalty shootout (3 penalties each, then sudden death)
4. DISCIPLINARY RULES
4.1 Yellow Card Offences
• Dangerous or reckless challenges
• Dissent
• Time wasting
• Unsporting behaviour
• Two yellow cards = red card
• Three yellow cards (different matches) = one match suspension
4.2 Red Card Offences
• Serious foul play
• Violent conduct / fighting
• Abusive language
• Deliberate handball denying advantage
• Red card = suspension for remainder of match + next match
5. MATCH PROTOCOL
5.1 Teams line up on either side of the referee.
5.2 Teams shake hands / fist bump.
5.3 Coin toss determines kick-off and direction.
5.4 Kick-off immediately after protocol.
6. BEHAVIOUR AND CONDUCT
WBHS enforces a strict code of conduct. The following will not be tolerated:
• Fighting or violent conduct
• Abuse of officials
• Spectator misconduct
• Team bench misconduct
The tournament committee reserves the right to:
• Disqualify teams • Remove spectators
• Suspend players or officials
7. WEATHER POLICY
• Matches paused for lightning or unsafe conditions
• If match cannot resume – result stands as recorded
• If match cannot start – draw, points shared
• Schedule changes may not be possible
• Tournament organisers reserve the right to cancel matches for safety reasons.
8.
LIABILITY
Wynberg Boys’ High School:
• Is not responsible for injuries
• Is not liable for medical costs
• Is not responsible for lost or stolen items
Medical support will be available:
• First Aid • Medics • Ambulance on site
9. AWARDS
Under 19 Division:
• Player of the Tournament
• Top Goal Scorer
• Goalkeeper of the Tournament
• Player of the Match (each game) Player of the Match awards based on:
• Performance • Discipline • Sportsmanship Players receiving red cards will not be eligible.
10. FINAL & PRESENTATION
• Under 19 Cup Final is the final match of the tournament
• National anthem and dignitary introductions
• Presentation immediately after final
PARTICIPATION
11.1 Maximum squad size: 18 players
11.2 Maximum two coaches per team
11.3 Additional players must be registered and paid before playing
11.4 Coaches function: Day 1 (12:00–13:00) – Jacques Kallis Indoor Cricket Centre
11.5 Players receive tournament shirt and daily meal
11.6 Team photos: Day 2 (12:00–13:00) – JK1 Field
11.7 Matches live streamed on SuperSport Schools (except Silverhurst C) 11.8 Match photos published on the Wynberg Media Flickr channel
