Here are a few updates from the Pathways team for April:
Library Week will take place from Monday, April 13 to Friday, April 17. Various events are scheduled throughout the week including:
Tuesday, April 14: Poetry Slam, Skylight Room, Eberly Library (5 p.m.)

Wednesday, April 15: Lattes with a Librarian, 1 Floor Stover (10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
Visit with Librarian Jill Peth at a Pop-Up Library table in Stover
Students will receive a Starbucks coupon while supplies last!
Thursday, April 16: Runway Royale: Career Closet Fashion Show, Pathways Center, Eberly Library (1 pm)
Friday, April 17: Stacks and Snacks Game Night, 1 Floor, Eberly Library (6 pm) st

The Pathways Weekly Professional Showcase Series wraps up this month with the following recruiting tables in Stover (Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.):
April 1: H&H Water; Waynesburg Graduate Programs
April 8: Prince William County Police Department; Christian & Missionary Alliance
April 15: Washington County CYS
Kari Hanlin, Graduate Writing Center Administrator, published her first academic book chapter! The chapter, titled "Press [space] to Honk, Press [x] to Think: Avatars and Environments in Nonhuman Simulators" was co-authored by S.P. Myers and published in Emerging Genres: New Formations of Games.
The Writing Center is looking for four new tutors to join our experienced team next fall for the 2026-2027 academic year Please email Sarah Scott with the names of your strongest writers who may be interested in working in the Writing Center next year
The last day for Writing Center appointments is April 23 The Writing Center remains open Monday through Thursday, with appointments available from 9 am to 6 pm

Game Nights @ the library
Friday, April 17
Starts at 6 pm. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome at the library after hours to enjoy board games and free food! Bring a friend or make new ones!

Tuition Remission?
All eligible employees are reminded that, if they want to take advantage of the University’s tuition remission benefits for either themselves, their spouses or their legal dependents for either the Summer 2026 Semester or the 2026-2027 academic year, they are responsible to complete the 2026-27 Tuition Remission Application. This can be found on the University’s “N “ Drive in the Informational Documents folder.

Our February female Resident Mentor of the month is Olivia Thomas of Denny Hall! Olivia is a Freshman, Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology major. On-Campus activities/sports involvement: Track and Field and Bonner Scholar

“To me, being a resident Mentor means being a supportive leader and helping make sure residents feel welcomed and safe While also helping them navigate growth personally and academically”

Steven is a Junior, Public Relations and Journalism major On-Campus activities/sports involvement: PRSSA (Public Relations Student Society of America) Executive Administrator/National Liaison/Red Brick Communications consultant, University Relations Presswriter, eHIVE Assistant Maker, Yellow Jacket Newspaper Contributor, Resident Mentor
What does being an RM mean to you?
“To me, being a Resident Mentor means connecting with students to build a campus community, both in the dorms and outside of them. My goal is to build a space where students feel welcomed, seen, and supported. “
