New Jacket Summer Orientation
Welcome to Your Waynesburg Journey!
�� Get Ready to Become a Yellow Jacket!
Your college experience starts here! New Jacket Summer Orientation is your first official step into life at Waynesburg University—where you’ll meet new friends, explore campus, and get everything you need to feel confident on day one. Whether you're a student or a family member, this experience is designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and excited for what’s ahead.

�� Check-in begins: 11:30 a.m.
�� Program starts at 12:30 p.m; Lunch is provided for each student and two guests and additional meals can be purchased at the door.
✨ Want a head start? Arrive as early as 9:30 a.m. to visit campus offices like Financial Aid, Admissions or the Business Office.
�� What to Expect:

�� Visit your residence hall and get a feel for your new home

This program is designed to help you transition smoothly into college life by introducing you to academic support services, campus resources, student life opportunities and tips for a successful first year.

Growing In Faith
At WU, we seek to integrate the Christian faith into every aspect of a student’s experience. We provide many faith-based opportunities and encourage students to get plugged in. All students, staff and faculty are invited to attend WU Chapel every Tuesday at 1 p.m. Chapel is a non-denominational service that provides the campus community with an opportunity for worship, prayer and to hear a message rooted in scripture by a variety of inspiring speakers On Sunday nights at 8 pm, many of our students enjoy participating in Upper Room, a studentled time of worship and testimony. For Roman Catholic students, a weekly Mass is held at 7 p.m. on Sunday evenings at St. Ann’s, a local parish located nearby campus. For those who are interested in additional faith-based activities such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Delight Women’s Ministry, the Jubilee Conference, ministry retreat and on-campus Bible studies, check out the Faith Tab on myConnect In addition, you can learn more about ministry opportunities during the Organization Open House or by stopping in the Center for Campus Ministry on the first floor of the Stover Campus Center. Shuttle Transportation for Arriving Students
Students who plan to travel to and from campus via plane or bus can utilize the Grey Line, which provides transportation from Pittsburgh International Airport and the Greyhound Bus Station (1 block from the train station) in Pittsburgh 365 days per year
As an added convenience, WU supplements the Grey Line schedule with several studentoperated shuttles during peak days, based on our academic schedule. Reservations for a WU shuttle must be made 5 business days in advance to allow for the scheduling of student drivers Campus shuttles only run when reservations are made Please click here to view the shuttle schedule and to make reservations
Important Reminder to All Students
If you have not already done so, please complete the following:
Medical Forms (Print, take to your doctor, and mail to Student Development by July 31)
Athletes - Athletic Training Medical Form- this form, in addition to the required Medical Forms listed above, is required for all new student athletes (Follow the electronic portal directions)
Resident Students - Your new student housing form will be available in THD (The Housing Director) under the Apps and Contracts Tab
Commuting Students - Your food service contract (if you signed up for a meal plan) will be available in the THD (The Housing Director) under the Apps and Contracts Tab.
Billing Statements
The Fall tuition statements will go out the beginning of July Waynesburg University is partnered with Nelnet Campus Commerce to provide electronic tuition statements and electronic access to the student’s tuition account balance, online payment processing, and payment plans. At that time, students will receive information through their WU student email account with instructions on how to access their online tuition account and online statements. Students will also be provided instruction on how to add parents or guardians as authorized users on their online tuition account As new students, we will also be sending this information by mail, however; please note that all future billings will be electronic and correspondence will be sent to the student’s University email account. If you have any questions in regard to tuition, billing, or payments, please contact the Business Office at 724-852-3298 or 724-852-3403, or email us at businessoffice@waynesburg.edu.
Utilizing Career Development Resources
It‘s not too early to utilize the career development resources that the Pathways Center offers at Waynesburg University They will help you establish vocational goals for your four years at Waynesburg and continue working with you after graduation. The Career Development Office is a great place to explore career interests and skills, develop a resume and cover letter, seek work-study employment, learn about potential internship opportunities and request job search assistance. In addition, students can connect with employers and explore job and internship opportunities through Handshake, available through myConnect If you have career development and work-study questions, please email Sarah Bell at sbell@waynesburgedu
Disability Services
The Disability Services Office (DSO) within the Pathways Center arranges reasonable academic, housing and dining accommodations for WU students with documented disabilities If you had an IEP or 504 plan in high school or have a medical or mental health need that may impact your Waynesburg University experience, please check out the DSO website to learn more about services or contact DSO Coordinator Sarah Feldberg at dso@waynesburg.edu or 724-852-7727 for further information.
Registering with the Disability Services Office the summer before the first semester of full-time enrollment is highly recommended for the best experience! Please note that July 1 is the priority deadline for housing accommodation requests for Fall 2026 incoming students. While requests received after this date will be considered, provision of the approved accommodation cannot be guaranteed for the first semester of occupancy after this date. Additionally, it is highly recommended that any requests for dietary accommodations are submitted at least 30 days prior to the start of the semester in which they are requested.
Center for Service Leadership
Service is the DNA of Waynesburg University and the Center for Service Leadership offers multiple opportunities to fulfill this mission. During your New Student Orientation Program, you will be introduced to service by participating in a project with your incoming class We like to provide students with an array of options that peek their interest within all academic majors, always striving to make the connection between faith, learning and service. Clubs and Activities
Part of your learning experience while at college involves growing, developing social relationships and having fun. WU's Student Activities Board (SAB) is one of the largest student organizations on campus, as it plans and sponsors numerous campus-wide events and outings. Federal Work Study
Students who qualify for Federal Work Study will be able to start applying for on-campus jobs in August. For more information about the on-campus employment program, including FAQs, visit https://www.waynesburg.edu/campus-employment-program-students

Parking On Campus
Parking on campus is overseen by the WU Department of Public Safety. All new students are permitted to have a vehicle on campus If you are planning to have a car on campus, please complete the University Parking Permit form If you have any additional questions regarding parking, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Safety at (724) 852-3303. Their office is located in the Stover Campus Center.
