Updates from the Dean
I hope you are having a great summer! Our faculty and staff at Waynesburg University are busy preparing for the fall semester We’re getting excited about having your student back on campus We certainly want you to enjoy your student for the rest of their break, but we also have some dates and details that are important for their return to campus
FOR ALL STUDENTS:
Academic Calendar- Classes will begin on Monday, August 24
Meal Plan Changes- Meal plans may be changed prior to 4:00 pm on Friday, August 21
Parking- Although parking is not guaranteed, if your student plans to bring a vehicle and use campus parking lots, they will need to register the vehicle to receive a parking permit They can register online at the myConnect page under Transportation, Vehicle Registration Form Please note that this does not guarantee a space, and parking is only permitted in specifically designated parking areas Parking without a decal or parking in incorrect lots will result in fines and/or towing at the owner’s expense
FOR RESIDENT STUDENTS:
Shuttle Information- As a convenience to students traveling to Pittsburgh by airplane or bus, we will continue to provide shuttle service on heavy travel days Your student can check the schedule and make a reservation online on the myConnect page under Transportation, Shuttle Reservation26-27
Renters Insurance- You may want to verify if your students’ belongings are covered by your homeowner’s insurance. If not, consider purchasing a policy from an insurance agent.
FOR COMMUTER STUDENTS:
Check In- Please encourage your student to stop by Student Development, 3rd floor of the Stover Campus Center, to have their ID card programmed. Student Development is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, please visit the 3rd floor of the Stover Campus Center to check in.
Please carefully review the arrival dates and times for all new students. In addition, there is a new section on the website "New Student Resources." Please take the time to look at this important information pertaining to arrival, move-in day and the New Jacket Orientation schedule.
Fall student athletes or those involved in campus programs will be arriving on campus earlier than other new students. Those scheduled to arrive early will receive information from the coach or program director. All new students, even those who arrive on campus early, are required to attend New Jacket Orientation August 20- 23 and participate in all New Jacket Orientation activities throughout the weekend.

Disability Services Office
Starting in early August, returning students will receive reminders to indicate which of their Fall 2026 professors they would like to be informed about their previously approved academic accommodations.
If your student is eligible for Federal Work Study and interested in applying for an oncampus job this semester, please make sure they review the On-Campus Employment page on our website, which answers frequently asked questions Students will need a one-page resume before they can submit an application. Fall semester positions are posted on Handshake in early August.
If your student needs writing support, tutoring, or additional academic support services throughout their time at Waynesburg University, have them contact the Pathways Center at pathways@waynesburg edu
Eberly Library is open for student use Sunday to Friday each week.
Fitness Center
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 6 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday 11 am- 5 pm
*Effective August 24 The Fitness Center will be closed on all recognized holidays and university breaks (fall, winter, spring, etc.) and all days that campus is closed.

Shuttle Transportation for Arriving Students
Students who plan to travel to and from campus via plane or bus can utilize the Grey Line, which provides transportation from the Pittsburgh International Airport and the Greyhound Bus Station (1 block from the train station) in Pittsburgh year round
As an added convenience, WU supplements the Grey Line schedule with several studentoperated shuttles during peak days based on our academic calendar. Who is Sting?
Waynesburg University’s student communication tool- an Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) texting chatbot focused on student success! Sting’s mission is to involve students in the conversation, answering questions and helping to address any challenges they may face as a college student, on-demand 24/7.
Sting serves as a resource for student questions and connects them to support services such as: academics, financial matters, student engagement, and overall, wellbeing.
