+ Call to Confession + Prayer of Confession Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen. + Declaration of Forgiveness The Lord says to us, "I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Sermon | “What Do You Look Like?” | The Rev. Timothy Pretz Time for Reflection + Affirmation of Faith | A Brief Statement of Faith We trust in God, whom Jesus called Abba, Father. In sovereign love God created the world good and makes everyone equally in God’s image, male and female, of every race and people, to live as one community. But we rebel against God; we hide from our Creator. Ignoring God’s commandments, we violate the image of God in others and ourselves, accept lies as truth, exploit neighbor and nature, and threaten death to the planet entrusted to our care. We deserve God’s condemnation. Yet God acts with justice and mercy to redeem creation. In everlasting love, the God of Abraham and Sarah chose a covenant people to bless all families of the earth. Hearing their cry, God delivered the children of Israel from the house of bondage. Loving us still, God makes us heirs with Christ of the covenant. Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child, like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home, God is faithful still. Invitation to Gratitude To donate online now, text the word GIVE to our church's Giving Number: (610) 819 - 4483, or scan the QR code on your smart phone. Please also feel free to give in-person in the baskets at the front of the Sanctuary.

FAMILY PROMISE HOST WEEK: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! OCTOBER 18 - 25 If you’re looking for a meaningful way to help others in our community, please consider volunteering with Family Promise of the Main Line during our upcoming host week. We will welcome families experiencing temporary homelessness to WPC for the week. Volunteers can help by bringing a meal, spending time with our guest families and children, helping to set-up, do laundry, or serving as an overnight host. Scan the QR code for more information, contact information, or to sign-up today.

UPCOMING CONGREGATIONAL MEETING On Sunday, October 18, we will be holding a brief congregational meeting at the end of the 9:30AM Worship Service for the purpose of electing one elder. We hope to see you there.

Help us stock local food pantries by bringing nonperishable food items and placing them in the collection bins in the Connector. Our goal? To collect more food items than the number of total yards gained by the Eagles in the previous week's game. Together, we can make a winning impact. Questions? Contact Scott Laird at: hslaird@aol.com.
