Third Sunday after Pentecost

ROYAL OAK

17th Century English Melody

Arranged by John M. Grecia

LOBE

Almighty God, you have called us to serve you, yet without your grace we are unable to please you. Have mercy on us for the many times and ways we turn from following you, and follow our own paths. Forgive us for the ways that we hurt others, and hurt ourselves. Look with compassion on us, your children, who despoil your good creation, mistreat those whom you love, and violate your commands.

Forgive us, O God, for we have sinned against you.

Mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may direct and rule our hearts, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness

Hear the Good News!

Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us. Christ prays for us.

+ Declaration of Forgiveness | Continued from previous page.

Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know that you are forgiven, and be at peace. Thanks be to God.

+ Response of Praise GLORIA PATRI (Greatorex)

+ Passing of the Peace

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you.

+ Affirmation of Faith | The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Offertory Anthem | Summer Chancel Choir

All Things Bright and Beautiful

John Rutter (b. 1945)

All things bright and beautiful , all creatures great and small , all things wise and wonderful , the Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, He made their glowing colors , He made their tiny wings. The purpleheaded mountain , the river running by, the sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky; the cold wind in the winter , the pleasant summer sun , the ripe fruits in the garden, He made them every one. He gave us eyes to see them , and lips that we might tell - how great is God Almighty, who has made all things well.

- Cecil Frances Alexander (1818-95)
