+ Call to Worship
Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live.
+ Hymn:
O Wondrous Sight, O Vision Fair + Please stand as you are able.
+ Call to Confession
WAREHAM
+ Prayer of Confession
Gracious and loving God, open our hearts so that we are able to admit to you the fullness of our lives – that which is beautiful and good, and that which is hurtful and hateful. We confess that we do not follow you in all that we do. We love with condition. We judge and condemn. We cast the first stone, and keep the logs in our own eyes. We do not turn to you as the source of our healing. Forgive us, we pray. Forgive our sin, and empower us to be imitators of Christ in love and service. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
Friends in Christ, know this: the mercy of God is from everlasting to everlasting. Remember God’s surpassing grace and know: in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
+ Response of Praise
+ Passing of the Peace
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you.

Time for Reflection
+ Affirmation of Faith | A selection from The Confession of 1967
The one sufficient revelation of God is Jesus Christ, the Word of God incarnate, to whom the Holy Spirit bears unique and authoritative witness through the Holy Scriptures, which are received and obeyed as the word of God written. The Scriptures are not a witness among others, but the witness without parallel. The church has received the books of the Old and New Testaments as prophetic and apostolic testimony in which it hears the word of God and by which its faith and obedience are nourished and regulated. The New Testament is the recorded testimony of apostles to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, and the sending of the Holy Spirit to the Church. The Old Testament bears witness to God’s faithfulness in God’s covenant with Israel and points the way to the fulfillment of his purpose in Christ. The Old Testament is indispensable to understanding the New, and is not itself fully understood without the New. The Bible is to be interpreted in the light of its witness to God’s work of reconciliation in Christ. The Scriptures, given under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, are nevertheless the words of human beings, conditioned by the language, thought forms, and literary fashions of the places and times at which they were written. They reflect views of life, history, and the cosmos which were then current. The church, therefore, has an obligation to approach the Scriptures with literary and historical understanding. As God has spoken his word in diverse cultural situations, the church is confident that he will continue to speak through the Scriptures in a changing world and in every form of human culture. God’s word is spoken to the church today where the Scriptures are faithfully preached and attentively read in dependence on the illumination of the Holy Spirit and with readiness to receive their truth and direction.

I’ll Fly Away African American Spiritual | Setting: Brandon A. Boyd (b. 1984)
Some glad morning when this life is o ' er , I'll fly away. To a home on God's celestial shore , I'll fly away. When the shadows of this life have flown , I'll fly away. Like a bird from prison bars has flown , I'll fly away. I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away. When I die , hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away, yes, I’ll fly away. Just a few more weary days and then , I'll fly away. To a land where joys shall never end , I'll fly away. When you see the lightnin’ flashin’ , when you hear the thunder crashin’ , when you see the stars are flashin’ , when you hear the chariot callin’ , I’ll fly away. Soon as I see my Savior , lay down my heavy burdens. Put on my robe in glory; shout and tell the story. When I die , hallelujah, by and by, O , I’ll fly away! - Albert E. Brumley (1905-1977)
