Alleluia! Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia! This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Alleluia! Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

+ Hymn 232: EASTER HYMN Jesus Christ is Risen Today
+ Call to Confession
+ Prayer of Confession
All-knowing, all-powerful God, we confess that, even on this most holy day, we are unable to believe in the victory over death shown to us in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord. We confess our utter dependence on you not only for life but also for faith, hope, and love. Without your astonishing appearance to our ancestors and your stunning presence throughout the ages, we would be lost. Forgive us and transform us, that in every way our work and prayer will make whole what is broken and give peace on earth. Amen.
+ Declaration of Forgiveness
By the grace of God and the witness of our ancestors, the good news of Jesus’ resurrection is our rock and our salvation. You shall not die but live. The rejected cornerstone has become your strength and your song. Believe the good news, In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God.
+ Response of Praise | Hymn 236 (v. 1): The Strife is O’er VICTORY

+ Passing of the Peace
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. And also with you.

Christ Has Arisen , Alleluia
MFURAHINI, HALELUYA: Tanzanian traditional Arr. Nathan Zullinger Christ has arisen , alleluia. Rejoice and praise him , alleluia. For our redeemer burst from the tomb , even from death , dispelling its gloom. Let us sing praise to him with endless joy. Death’s fearful sting he has come to destroy. Our sin forgiving, alleluia! Jesus is living, alleluia! For three long days the grave did its worst until its strength by God was dispersed. He who gives life did death undergo, and in its conquest his might did show. The angel said to them , “Do not fear. You look for Jesus who is not here. See for yourselves the tomb is all bare. Only the graveclothes are lying there.” “Go spread the news: he’s not in the grave. He has arisen this world to save. Jesus’ redeeming labors are done. Even the battle with sin is won. ” Risen to set us free. Alleluia , to him praises be. Jesus is living! Let us all sing; he reigns triumphant, heavenly king.
- Bernard Kyamanywa (1938-2021), tr. Howard S. Olson (1922-2010)

ST.
+ Affirmation of Faith | The Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Light’s Glittering Morn Bedecks the Sky
Horatio W. Parker (1863-1919)
Light's glittering morn bedecks the sky; heav'n thunders forth its victor cry; The glad earth shouts her triumph high, and groaning hell makes wild reply, while he the King, the mighty King, despoiling death of all its sting, and trampling down the powers of might, brings forth his ransomed saints to light. Light's glittering morn bedecks the sky; heav'n thunders forth its victor cry. That Eastertide with joy was bright, The sun shone out with fairer light, When to their longing eyes restored , the Apostles saw their risen Lord: he bade them see his hands , his side , where yet the glorious wounds abide; these tokens true which made it plain their Lord indeed was risen again. O Jesu, King of gentleness do thou thyself our hearts possess; that we may give thee all our days, the tribute of our grateful praise. The strife is o ' er , the battle done , the victory of life is won , the song of triumph has begun. O Lord of all with us abide , in this our joyful Eastertide; from every weapon death can wield , thine own redeemed for ever shield. Alleluia. Amen. All praise be thine , O risen Lord , from death to endless life restored , all praise to God , the Father be , And Holy Ghost eternally. Alleluia. Amen. - "Aurora lucis rutilat," anonymous 5th Century Latin hymn, translated by John Mason Neale (1818-1866)
