Crouse 4th of July Parade celebrates 30+ Years of good old fashioned fun! The Crouse 4th of July community parade was started by a local family as a way to entertain their small children. The first parade was a small group of adults and children. Children on tricycles and red wagons, adults giving a push or pull as needed. As the children grew and their riding toys improved, the parade grew. In 2023, following a few years in hibernation due to Covid, the Crouse Parade was BACK!!! The parade is now hosted by the Crouse Fire Department. As the event date draws near travelers through Crouse will notice Old NC Hwy. 150 decorated with US flags, a wonderful addition to the community and the parade route, also sponsored by the Crouse Fire Department Come early and hang out at Crouse Fire Department and play (for free) kid’s games, bounce house and dunk tank. The fire department will also have BBQ Bologna sandwiches to sell from 1:00-4:00 pm. Spectators are welcome and interested churches, organizations or individuals are urged to bring golf carts, tractors with trailers, floats, lawn mowers with trailers, classic cars, trucks, four wheelers, bicycles,
Scenes from past parades. (Provided by Mona Ramsey) floats, and goats, horses with wagons or buggies and horses with riders. If interested in being in the parade, stop by Crouse Fire Department to sign up for entry. The official Grand Marshal each year is Sandy Jones, a lifelong resident of Crouse. Sandy loves the parade and can hardly wait for the event to occur each year. All participants are requested to adhere to the proper safety attire/equipment required
to operate their vehicles. It will be necessary for all entrants to sign an entry form. The entry forms may be picked up in advance at the Crouse Fire Department located on West Old NC 150 Hwy, Crouse, NC or fill out an entry form at the line-up on parade day. The entries will begin lining up around 2:45 PM at the intersection of Crouse School Road and Swanson Road, the GPS address is 3580 Crouse School Road, Crouse, NC. See PARADE, Page 6
