November’s Storm Claudia brought down a large tree opposite the Globe Inn, Linslade, blocking the canal, towpath and car park entrance. CRT’s contractors attended promptly to clear it, but an underwater obstruction remained. Following an accident elsewhere, CRT has halted tree maintenance work pending an investigation—see Page 4.
