It is an honor to present the 2025–2026 Annual Report. This year’s report is a reflection not just of our financial health, but of the shared values that define us. This year, our philanthropic focus, Lead with Kindness, was brought to life through your collective generosity. Whether your support went to the Waterford Fund, bolstered our endowment, or championed specific scholarships and academic programs, your impact is felt daily across our campus. Because of you, we are actively establishing the nation’s preeminent liberal arts independent school experience. Your exceptional generosity allowed us to achieve remarkable milestones this fiscal year: • The Waterford Fund: We proudly surpassed our

$1.25 million goal by more than $150,000. These critical resources enable kindness in action, directly enriching student experiences, fueling faculty innovation and development, and elevating our school-wide pursuit of excellence. Endowment Growth: Through new gifts and visionary, long-term investments, our endowment grew significantly from $13.6 million to over $16.5 million. Our aggressive goal to reach $50 million within the next eight years will provide the vital stability needed to plan boldly for the future, weather external uncertainties, and secure the Waterford experience for generations to come.

Thanks to the expanding culture of philanthropy, Waterford stands on a solid financial foundation. This stability ensures that our primary focus remains exactly where it belongs: delivering a world-class liberal arts education that inspires lives of meaning and purpose. As we look ahead, achieving our robust strategic plan

As another remarkable school year comes to a close, I write with deep gratitude for your generosity and partnership. Your philanthropy has strengthened Waterford in countless ways and advanced our shared commitment to providing an exceptional liberal arts education. This year, animated by our theme of Lead with Kindness, our community responded with extraordinary generosity. Through the success of the Waterford Fund, an inspiring Giving Day, and the historic Sherwood Family Challenge Matches totaling $150,000, donors demonstrated the power of collective action in support of our students and teachers. Your support enriched the intellectual life of our campus through gifts to the Visiting Writers Series, which brought Naomi Shihab Nye, Paisley Rekdal, and alumna Katie Sanyal ’20 to Waterford. These experiences invited students to engage deeply with

S C H O O L ideas, language, and creativity—the very heart of a liberal arts education. This year also marked significant growth in Waterford’s endowment, which now exceeds $16.5 million. Gifts such as The Reddy Family Endowed Fund for Mathematics and The Waterford Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund will strengthen Waterford for generations to come. Equally important, your philanthropy continues to support one of our most important strategic priorities: attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional teachers. This year, your support funded innovative professional learning opportunities, including a Harkness workshop through The Parker Family Faculty Professional Development Endowment Fund and an Executive Functioning Skills Workshop through The Waterford Fund.

By making a gift to the Waterford Fund, you enable programs like Ethics, where older students mentor younger students in the practice of critical thinking, analysis, and discussion, which are inherent to a liberal arts education. This year, the junior Ethics team took first place at the Wasatch Regional Ethics Bowl—a win built on mentorship. Our faculty’s leadership and the senior team’s intentional coaching form a collaborative foundation for younger teams to pursue academic excellence. Students find their footing on a team that pushes them to think harder and build confidence. Your gift creates the environment for students to support other students and where hesitant voices are encouraged to speak up. Your gift to the Waterford Fund enables experiences like the Birding Buddies program, where cross-campus collaboration supports exploration and discovery. Grade level curricular experiences conjoin for a shared experience between Class VIII and Class I, transforming coursework into richer learning. The program pairs these students to roam together, binoculars in hand, searching for feathered friends in our campus arboretum while building a connection across divisions. Your support makes possible a deeper experience, where respect and inclusion can nurture intellectual and emotional growth. For Class VIII students, it is a lesson in active responsibility, learning to slow down, adjust their pace, and care for a younger child’s development. For Class I students, their buddy becomes a trusted guide who makes the natural world feel safe and worth exploring. Middle School students become empowered leaders helping Lower School students become confident learners. They just want to learn everything and I think that’s really cool. Your gift to the Waterford Fund enables opportunities for leadership in learning through programs like Teaching Assistants (TAs). Class XI and XII students are trained to provide attentive, personalized support of their fellow students, inspiring curiosity and deeper learning in the classroom. TAs take time to put themselves in the shoes of their mentees, recognizing that each student learns differently. Thanks to your support, this year eight students served as TAs in classes like Class VI Studio Art and Chinese 3 Honors. Upper School students serving in these roles embrace being leaders and build their own confidence in our rigorous curriculum. The Waterford Fund makes these experiences of excellence possible, where students collectively step up to elevated standards of knowledge, performance, and character.

Your gift to the Waterford Fund enables connection and confidence in action through the Lower School Buddies program. Classes across ages are paired together to create collaborative learning experiences throughout the year. This year, students showed up for each other in ways that go far beyond the classroom. Gifts to the Waterford Fund provide the resources needed for monthly shared experiences that build relationships in pursuit of a stronger, more connected school. Older students take the lead on completing projects with their younger buddy, learning about responsibility and demonstrating dependability. Through this connection, younger students discover a stronger sense of belonging. That’s what the Waterford Fund makes possible—not simply a program, but a relationship. On Waterford’s Giving Day, our school celebrated kindness and gratitude through a collaborative project that connected students with the joy of giving. Students were invited to reflect on what they are grateful for and wrote messages of kindness about our school community. They were supported by their teachers and members of the Waterford Fund Council, a group of parents who support our culture of philanthropy and volunteerism. Over 1100 messages appeared in this project, which was displayed in the Heuston Concert Hall Gallery throughout the month of December.
