Dear Waterford High School Families,

Below are a few important updates and upcoming events to share with you:

No School, April 3

There will be no school on Friday, April 3 due to the holiday. The WPS District Calendar can be found at: https://www.waterfordschools.org/parents_family/information/school_year_calendar.

Music Department Concert

If you want to see an evening of great musical performances, join us on Wednesday, April 8, at 7:30PM for our music concert. It will feature performances by the WHS Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Chamber and Concert Choirs, and Chamber and String Orchestras. It is always a great night, and we hope you can join us for this free concert in the WHS auditorium.

Quarter 3 Ends April 10

The third marking period ends Friday, April 10. Students should be mindful of teacher deadlines regarding late work throughout the quarter. As we enter the fourth and final quarter, we want all students to finish the year strongly. Please reach out to your school counselor or administrator if you need any support.

2026 Yearbook – Purchase Deadline

The deadline to purchase the 2026 Waterford High School Yearbook is April 10, just before Spring Break. Please note that no additional yearbooks will be ordered, so be sure to secure your copy before the deadline. Yearbooks can be purchased online at www.buytheyearbook.com. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Bono at jbono@waterfordschools.org.

Scholarship Applications for Seniors

The WHS 2026 Scholarship Application is now open for senior students to complete. This scholarship application will make students eligible for over 100 scholarships awarded through the WHS Scholarship Fund. These scholarships recognize students for academic accomplishments, athletic and extracurricular achievement, leadership, and/or engagement with our greater community, among many other criteria. Students are eligible for scholarships regardless of what their post-graduation plans are. Scholarships are available to students entering career and technical schools, the job market, armed services, community or jr. college, and traditional four-year colleges and universities. ALL STUDENTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. Students must access the application and

submit it from their school google accounts. Submission deadline is April 19, 2026, at midnight.

Free Summer Sailing Program

The Niantic Bay Sailing Academy is offering full or partial scholarships for its 4- or 8-week summer sailing program (June 22 – August 14) for students ages 7-17 of all skill levels. Boats are provided, and participants will learn sailing fundamentals, teamwork, and racing skills in a fun and supportive environment. This is a great opportunity for local youth, especially those new to the sport, to experience the camaraderie and lifelong benefits of sailing. Save the Date – Junior/Senior Prom

Mark your calendars! Prom will take place on Saturday, May 30 at The Woodwinds in Branford, CT. Additional details and ticket information will be shared with students as the event approaches.

Message from Safe Grad

Attention Junior Parents/Guardians: The Class of 2026 Safe Grad will need your help for a few hours on Graduation Night! Please pencil us in your calendar now and stay tuned for more details.

All Parents Welcome – Parents Advisory Coffee

Our next Parents Advisory Coffee will take place on Wednesday, April 29, from 7:30–8:30 AM in the Library Reading Room. Please join the WHS administrative team for coffee and conversation.
