Flexible. Affordable. Attainable. It’s your turn to learn!

It’s the college degree you always wanted to pursue. Or the certificate that puts your dream job or next promotion in reach. But family, work, and financial commitments can get in the way. We get it. In fact, we’ve made adult learners a key priority central to our mission. We’ll provide you with all the guidance, resources, and ongoing support you’ll need to reach your individual goals while you continue to meet the ongoing demands of your busy life.

With more than 140 programs, 50 of which are entirely online, our classes meet day, night and on weekends. Together, we can build a flexible schedule that works for you while you work towards your goal. We offer some of the lowest college tuition rates in the state. Also, we have a wide variety of financial assistance, scholarships, and other aid to help make it all affordable. This includes the free tuition Michigan Reconnect Scholarship for qualifying Michigan residents older than 25 who graduated high school but have no college degree. At WCC, we specialize in making your dreams and goals attainable. It’s what we do...every day...for students of every background and every age...with dreams and goals just like yours.

Getting my degree is a really big step for me. I guess I’m a little scared!
Success Coaches – Don’t be scared, it’s a big step. That’s why degree-seeking students are assigned a Success Coach during their first year at WCC. They provide one-onone support to identify and handle obstacles, connect you to campus services and resources, and work with you to develop goals. Getting that degree is as important to them as it is to you.
Faculty Mentors – Our smaller class sizes make it easy to get to know your instructors who serve as Faculty Mentors. They are available to answer your questions about assignments, timelines and resources that help you plan. As a mentor, they will be there for you. Whether you’re in-person or online, it’s a personal commitment.
Center for Career Success – This team is here to help you find a job, internship or co-op experience. We work with many local and national employers. We can also provide resumé and cover letter assistance, interview coaching and professional development advice.
WCC ADULT LEARNERS TURN GOALS AND DREAMS INTO SUCCESS STORIES EVERY DAY. NOW IT’S YOUR TURN!
ARMY NATIONAL GUARD VETERAN JAMES CAMERON CHENAULT HAD ALREADY SERVED HIS COUNTRY OVERSEAS. TODAY WCC IS HELPING THE 30 YEAR-OLD VETERAN TO SERVE AGAIN...AS A REGISTERED NURSE.
For James, it was a lifelong dream, and WCC was the perfect fit. After enrolling, he applied for and won a WCC Divisional Scholarship which covers his full in-district tuition and up to $300 in books each semester. At $99 per credit for in-district students, WCC’s tuition is already among the lowest in the state. The combined savings allow him to save his GI bill benefit for higher-priced tuition at a four-year university when he transfers for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. His Student Success Team has been with him at every turn, and the Wadhams Veterans Center on campus has been an outstanding resource along the way. Thank you for your service, James. It’s an honor to serve you.

DAVID GRAHAM’S PLATE WAS ALREADY FULL WHEN HE CAME TO WCC, BUT HE WANTED TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN HIS CAREER.
A mid-40’s dad parenting kids, David was also managing 12 stores and 130 employees for a national auto parts chain. Busy life! But he knew to further his career, he needed to takethe next step. WCC’s Student Success Team helped David choose the WCC Associate Degree in Business Administration Transfer Program, and build his own self-paced schedule around family and work. This led to earning his Associate Degree in Business Management, and opened the door to Central Michigan University where he plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. Well played, David! Fire Up Chips!
AMANDA MCDONALD BROUGHT
HER CAREER DREAM TO WCC. WE HELPED HER PURSUE IT TUITION FREE!
A working wife and mother of three, Amanda had always aspired to a medical billing and coding career. When she first came to WCC, the Student Success Team was immediately able to help her connect to a Michigan Reconnect Scholarship. As an adult 25+, a high school graduate and Michigan resident without a degree, she was able to qualify for FREE in-district tuition at WCC. Working with her WCC advisor, she will be applying her credits to earning an Associate Degree in Health Administration. Her dream is now well within reach, and the door is opening to the career she always wanted. Well done, Amanda!

WHILE ANDREW DENTON PURSUED HIS WCC ASSOCIATE DEGREE TUITION FREE, HIS FAME INTERNSHIP PAID HIM FOR 30 HOURS A WEEK TO APPLY WHAT HE HAD JUST LEARNED.

As a high school graduate with some college but no degree, Andrew worked with his Student Success Team to secure a free-tuition Michigan Reconnect Scholarship. The Ypsilanti resident went on to earn an associate degree in Mechatronics-Robotics and Automated Systems as part of the first graduating cohort of the Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) program. Through FAME, he completed a paid work-and-learn apprenticeship, spending three days a week at Orbitform in Jackson and two days on campus. Today, Andrew is employed full time at Orbitform. “It’s pretty cool—you learn things at school and the next day you see them happening on the job.” We’re proud of you, Andrew. You’re on your way!
WCC has one of the lowest tuition rates in Michigan, but we understand finances may still be a concern and applying for financial aid can seem complicated. We’ve got your back. We can also help you find scholarships, like the Michigan Reconnect Scholarship and other scholarships and grants that may significantly reduce the cost of college.
Here are just a few of the ways we can help:
Michigan Reconnec t – If you are at least 25 and have lived in Michigan for one year or more, you might qualify for free in-district tuition to earn an associate degree or Pell-eligible skill certificate. First, you must have earned a high school diploma equivalent or certification of completion and have not yet completed any college degrees. Check this out!

Paying for Textbooks – We know the cost of books and supplies can add up quickly. Some grants and scholarships may cover or—partially cover—textbook costs. Financial Aid can help you identify these options. WCC also offers open educational resources (OERs) to help reduce costs and ensure access to materials. OERs include materials created by faculty from their own learning modules. Some faculty source OERs from learning and research that have been released and distributed in the public domain. OERs include digital and other formats and help keep education affordable while ensuring access to up-to-date materials.

Childcare – Students with children can apply for a scholarship that helps pay for childcare. These are awarded through the Student Resource Center and can be used to pay for licensed providers. Our Student Success Team is happy to discuss requirements and help with the application process.
Life Resources – We understand that college won’t be the only thing in your life. Our students face many challenges, both minor and significant. WCC has resources to help you manage.
Mental Health Support – WCC has a team of licensed professional counselors that can help you work with personal issues. We also have support groups and meetings for those dealing with addiction issues.
Food Insecurity – Need emergency food or financial assistance? Our Student Resource Center can help. We operate an Emergency Food Pantry and can connect you with community organizations.
Personal Finances – Our team can help you learn financial planning skills and help find potential sources to assist with the cost of tuition, books, childcare and more.
Personalized Testing and Language Help – Not sure where to start or jump back in? We offer full pre-admission evaluation testing to help you map your future. We also provide English as a Second Language evaluation and instruction. Learn more at: https://catalog.wccnet.edu/current/programs/ctesl1.php

Adult learners are a significant part of our student body, and as such, we make sure that we have the programs, scheduling options and resources to meet your needs. You’ll find a welcoming community of students all looking to meet their educational or professional goals, just like you.
We offer flexible program options to fit your life and timetable. Most of our students work full or part-time while attending WCC and may be balancing school, work, home and family commitments. That’s a lot of juggling and the very reason we offer a wide range of programs to fit your busy life. If a “traditional” college/classroom schedule doesn’t work with your life, don’t worry. WCC offers more than 140 programs, 50 of which are completely online. We also offer a number of accelerated programs, certificates and courses for students looking to complete a goal. We have classes in the evenings and weekends, too. We’re bound to have something to fit your schedule and career goals.
What do you call someone who attended WCC? Employed.© WCC is here to help you grow both professionally and personally so you can have the career you want. Your success is extremely important to us. We try to make your experience as straightforward as possible and assist if you hit any roadblocks or have questions. In short, we’re here for YOU. Don’t let being considered a “non- traditional” student keep you from reaching for your goals. We’ve got something for everyone, and we’re here to support you.

Reach out to us with any questions or to schedule a campus tour. We hope to see you on campus or in a virtual classroom soon!
Applying is quick, easy, and free— we don’t charge for applications. Visit: wccnet.edu/enroll to start the process. If you have questions, contact us at 734-973-3543.
Sounds great, but I don’t live in Washtenaw County
WCC is convenient to several neighboring counties, and since we have one of the lowest tuition rates in Michigan, even out-of-district (and out-of-state!) rates are competitive. Compare college costs and calculate savings by using the Tuition Savings Calculator. More good news! If you work in Washtenaw County but don’t live here, you might still qualify for in-district tuition rates. This also might apply if you own property in Washtenaw County. Approval requires advanced planning, and our team is happy to answer questions and help you through the process.
We recommend that all students complete the FAFSA/financial aid application using WCC’s Federal School Code, which is 002328. You’ll need this to qualify for scholarships (including the Michigan Reconnect program) and additional financial aid. Contact our team by phone, email, or online chat to get help with this application.
