Sustainability & Alternative Transport

Sustainability is a key priority for Warwick Schools Foundation, and our transport provision plays an important role in reducing our environmental impact. Since 2023, our school transport network has:

• Completed over 10,000 journeys

• Travelled more than 330,000 kilometres

• Saved an estimated 1122 tonnes of CO₂

• 183 CO₂ total emissions offset

• 106 Kg CO₂ saved per journey

• 4.2 Kg CO₂ saved per ride

This is equivalent to removing over 230,000 individual car journeys from the road or planting 7,014 trees.

By encouraging shared transport, we help to reduce congestion around our school sites while supporting a more environmentally responsible way of travelling to school. Our transport partner aligns with our values and is committed to their sustainability targets, further strengthening our shared ambition to reduce emissions and invest in more sustainable travel solutions.

Where appropriate, we also encourage pupils to travel independently using public transport, walking or cycling. These options can help build confidence, promote wellbeing and further reduce environmental impact. Information on public transport links, walking routes and cycling options can be found at: www.warwickschoolsfoundation.co.uk/travel

Together, these initiatives reflect our long-term commitment to sustainability, responsible travel and creating a positive future for our school communities.
