Calvary Christian College is a ministry of Calvary Church. The classroom building is located at 3000 Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard. The vision for the college is to provide practical collegiate ministry training for those who are interested in a vocational ministry career, as well as those wanting Biblical training as they serve their local church in lay leadership.
I am thankful for the opportunity to be involved with the start of the college. As the Head of School at Calvary Christian High School for 17 years, I look forward to the college growing and reaching students in the Tampa Bay region. 2025-26 SCHOOL YEAR Tuition and Fee Schedule
Tuition for students seeking ACADEMIC CREDITS:
Per Credit Hour: $250
Per Course: $750 (each course is 3 credit hours)
The college requires at least two-thirds (2/3) of the total tuition payment to be received by the official Add/Drop deadline. The full tuition balance must then be paid in full by the official withdrawal deadline for the semester. Students who do not make the required initial payment by the end of the Add/Drop period will be dropped from their courses. Students who do not pay the total tuition amount by the final due date will be withdrawn from their courses, and academic credit will not be granted.
Fees for students AUDITING courses without credit:
Per Course: $200
Audit fees are due in full by the official Add/Drop deadline for the semester. Students who do not make this payment will be dropped from the course.
Scholarships:

Dr. Tommy & Karen Green Scholarship:
Florida Baptist Financial Services, in partnership with the Florida Baptist Convention, offers scholarship opportunities to ordained Florida Baptist Convention church pastors and associate pastors who are pursuing theological education to help them become better equipped for ministry and leadership. The scholarship also applies to immediate family members (spouse and children) of current pastors of Florida Baptist Convention churches who are seeking a college or seminary degree from an SBC affiliated school and intend to vocationally serve within the church.

BIB 1000 Understanding the Bible - 3 HOURS
This course provides an introduction to the Bible. Students will learn details about the history of the Bible, from the first written documents to the present time. Topics include: the uniqueness of the Bible, the Old Testament and New Testament canon, textual transmission, early copies of the biblical text, the development of the English Bible, translation theories, and more.
BIB 1100 Survey of the Old Testament - 3 HOURS
This course is a study through the Old Testament, from Genesis through Malachi. Students will learn about the history, theology, genres, and interpretive challenges of the Old Testament books.
BIB 1110 Survey of the New Testament - 3 HOURS
This course is a study through the New Testament, from Matthew through Revelation. Students will learn about the history, theology, genres, and interpretive challenges of the New Testament books.
BIB 1200 Christian Theology I - 3 HOURS
This course offers an introduction to the basic doctrines of the Bible. Topics include: the doctrine of revelation, theology proper, creation, angels, theological anthropology, and sin.
BIB 1210 Christian Theology II - 3 HOURS
This course offers an introduction to the basic doctrines of the Bible. Topics include: the person and work of Christ, the Holy Spirit, salvation, sanctification, the church, and last things.
BIB 2000 Introduction to Biblical Worldview - 3 HOURS
This course introduces students to the foundational principles of a biblical worldview and equips them with the analytical skills needed to compare and contrast the biblical worldview with alternatives. Topics include: worldview, religion, theism, naturalism, pantheism, Marxism, scientism, postmodernism, and more.

BIB 2100 Foundations of Spiritual Formation - 3 HOURS
This course explores the process of how one becomes more like Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Students will learn about intentional practices, rhythms, habits and disciplines that lead to spiritual growth and maturity. Topics include: becoming an apprentice of Jesus in every area of life, resisting cultural pressures, the power of spiritual habits, and the habits of prayer, Scripture reading, solitude, Sabbath, fasting, giving, and more.
BIB 2200 Evangelism and Discipleship - 3 HOURS
This course introduces students to sharing the gospel and making disciples of all nations. Students will examine the history of evangelism, the biblical foundation for evangelism and discipleship, and strategies for fulfilling the Great Commission in the 21st century.
BIB 2300 Christian Apologetics - 3 HOURS
This course equips students to provide a reasonable defense for the Christian faith. Students will learn about the history of and biblical support for apologetics, different approaches to apologetics, and the basic case for Christianity. BIB 2400 Hermeneutics - 3 HOURS
This course covers the principles and methods necessary for biblical interpretation. Students will explore key concepts related to reading Scripture carefully, such as the role of the Holy Spirit in interpretation, understanding different genres, principles of exegesis and arching/diagramming sentences, exegetical fallacies, the grammatical-historical method, typology and Christocentric interpretations, principles of application, and more.
Cross-Cultural Missions
CCM 1000 Introduction to Missions - 3 HOURS
This course examines Christian missions’ biblical, historical, and strategic aspects, emphasizing the believer’s role in fulfilling the Great Commission. Students will study mission strategies and explore how God’s plan for redemption extends to all nations.
CCM 1100 International Church Planting - 3 HOURS
This course examines principles and strategies for planting churches in international contexts, with a focus on cultural sensitivity and sustainability. Students will learn best practices for establishing gospel-centered churches that thrive in diverse cultures.
CCM 1200 Cross-Cultural Communication - 3 HOURS
This course focuses on developing the skills to communicate the gospel across cultural and linguistic barriers. Students will learn to navigate cultural differences and adapt their message to diverse audiences.
CCM 2000 Mission Trends & Issues Studies - 3 HOURS
This course examines the emerging global trends and regional dynamics that shape Christian missions today. Students will explore the rise of Christianity in the Global South, the effects of migration and diaspora, and the challenges of engaging diverse cultures and world religions. Through area studies and practical assignments, they will evaluate various ministry contexts and develop strategic approaches for engagement.
CCM 2200 Practical Ministry Internship - 3 HOURS
This course offers hands-on experience in cross-cultural ministry through a mission trip, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. Students will work alongside Calvary’s global partners to serve and share the gospel in a cross-cultural context.
Pastoral Ministry
PM 1100 Homiletics - 3 HOURS
This course examines the practice of preaching, focusing on the theological, hermeneutical, and practical aspects of preparing and delivering sermons. Emphasis will be given to biblical interpretation, sermon construction, and effective communication techniques.
PM 1200 Church Administration and Leadership - 3 HOURS
This course introduces biblical perspectives of leadership and examines various contemporary leadership theories to explore the nature and practices of effective pastoral leadership. Additionally, the course will review the different methods for organizing church lay leadership and administration.
PM 2000 Pastoral Counseling - 3 HOURS
This course is an introduction to pastoral counseling and provides basic preparation for the task of pastoral care. The focus is upon the pastor in the congregational setting. Students will formulate a biblical foundation for the practice of pastoral counseling and be introduced to basic skills for pastoral care of their congregation.
PM 2200 Pastoral Ministry Internship - 3 HOURS
This course provides students with hands-on experience within a local church context. Students will engage in sermon planning and preparation, pastoral care, staff leadership, and short/long range planning for the various ministries in the local church.

Worship and Production Ministry
WPM 1000 Biblical Foundations/History of Christian Worship

Beginning with a study of the theology, institutions, and practice of worship in Scripture, this course explores the ways in which biblical models can inspire worship renewal today. The biblical foundations topics include:
• Biblical worship and its theological foundations
• The practice of worship as reported in the Old and New Testaments
• The relationship between spirituality and corporate worship
• The concepts of sacred time and sacred space
• The Psalms in Hebrew and Christian worship
• The Hebrew roots of Christian worship
The historical side of the course surveys Christian worship through the centuries in both the Eastern and Western Churches and historical shifts in how Christian people have understood God, the church, salvation, and the church-culture intersection with respect to worship.
WPM 1100 Theology and Practice of Christian Worship - 3 HOURS
This course provides a comprehensive exploration of the essential components of Christian worship services and rituals. Key topics include the four-fold order of worship, as well as significant rites such as baptism, marriage, and funeral services. Students will engage in an in-depth examination of the biblical, historical, and theological foundations that underpin these practices. WPM 1200 Leading Worship through the Arts - 3 HOURS
This course provides a comprehensive examination of four fundamental art forms frequently utilized in congregational worship: congregational song, Scripture presentation, visual art, and media/technology. Students will engage in an in-depth exploration of the biblical, historical, theological, contextual, and formational underpinnings of these art forms, with a significant emphasis on their practical application and implementation within the realm of worship leadership.
Worship and Production Ministry
WPM 1300 Worship Leadership - 3 HOURS
This course focuses on principles of leadership for worship with practical application focused on building and leading multi-generational worship teams. Additionally, the course will include lessons on the process of building and leading student worship teams, emphasizing discipleship, development, and sending.
WPM 2000 Song in Christian Worship - 3 HOURS
This study undertakes a comprehensive historical survey and theological examination of Christian congregational song, traversing two millennia of Christian worship practices. It encompasses a diverse range of musical expressions, from early chant to contemporary praise choruses, and includes both traditional Western hymnody and global worship songs. The discourse also emphasizes the importance of incorporating various song types into worship design, alongside strategies for introducing congregations to and effectively leading them in novel musical forms for worship.
WPM 2100 Worship Technology - 3 HOURS
This course will introduce strategies for utilizing technology for the church in worship. Considerations of theological and pastoral foundations as related to technology in worship will be explored. Systems modeled throughout this course include: PCO, Pro7, Audio, Lighting, Ableton, Playback
WPM 2200 Worship Ministry Internship - 3 HOURS
This course is designed to give the students exposure to, and experience in, the total worship music program in a local church, including rehearsals and worship leading.

YM 1000 Foundations for Youth Ministry - 3 HOURS
This introductory youth ministry course addresses the theological, sociological, developmental and historical foundations for youth ministry. Attention is given to youth ministry practices, models of youth ministry, the person of the youth pastor, and parachurch youth ministries.
YM 1100 Organization & Administration of Youth Ministry 1 - 3 HOURS
Through this course, students will explore the organizing, planning, decisionmaking, supervision, and human relations involved in the administration and management of youth ministry. Topics include: leadership and volunteer development, curriculum and small group development, and bi-vocational ministry.
YM 1110 Organization & Administration of Youth Ministry 2 - 3 HOURS
Through this course, students will continue exploring the organizing, planning, decision-making, supervision, and human relations involved in the administration and management of youth ministry. Topics include: disciple making with youth and families and ministering to youth in crisis.
YM 2000 Youth Culture - 3 HOURS
This course guides students in understanding contemporary youth culture norms (such as search for identity, generation and communication gaps, sexual patterns and attitudes, impact of mass/social media, drugs, alcohol, music, and spiritual attraction). Special attention will be given to the evaluation and critique of adolescent culture.
YM 2200 Youth Ministry Internship - 3 HOURS
This course is designed to give the students exposure to, and experience in, the total youth ministry program in a local church, including weekly and long-range planning responsibilities.

Dr. Michael Berhow
Dr. Michael Berhow serves as the Spiritual Formation Coordinator at Calvary Christian High School and has taught philosophy and theology courses at various universities, including the University of South Dakota and Augustana University. He currently holds adjunct positions at South Dakota State University and Grand Canyon University. Dr. Berhow earned a B.S. in Communication Studies from South Dakota State University, as well as an M.Div. and Ph.D. in Christian Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He was a church planter with the North American Mission Board, founding Veritas Church in Brookings, SD. Prior to that, Dr. Berhow spent ten years participating in and organizing various apologetics events with Equip Campus Ministries, Ratio Christi, and the Veritas Forum.
Dr. Berhow is the author of Dysteleology: A Philosophical Assessment of Suboptimal Design in Biology (Wipf & Stock/Pickwick, 2019), co-editor of Engaging Populism: Democracy and the Intellectual Virtues (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), and has published two peer-reviewed articles: “Causation and the Origin of Suboptimal Design in Biology” (Philosophia Christi, 2020) and “Did the New Atheists Rationally Lack Belief?” (Themelios, 2020). His academic research focuses on theology and science, intellectual virtues, worldview studies, and apologetics. He lives in Oldsmar, FL, with his wife, Becky, and their four children.
Dr. Paul A. Colton
Dr. Paul A. Colton serves as the Pastor of Mobilization and Sending at Calvary Church in Clearwater, FL. In this role, he plays a vital part in training and facilitating Calvary’s sending and leadership pipeline, helping to fulfill the Great Commission through Calvary’s X150 strategy. Prior to his time at Calvary, Dr. Colton spent eight years in South Asia with the International Mission Board, leading various initiatives to strengthen local church engagement in global missions.
Dr. Colton earned a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) in Great Commission Mobilization from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) with a focus on International Church Planting from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History and Biblical Studies from Judson College at Southeastern.
His approach to ministry is deeply influenced by his international missions experience and his role as a father to four sons, fostering a family-centered perspective on global missions. He and his wife, Sarah, are committed to building a vibrant community of faith with a global reach.

Professor Kyle Mullett
Kyle Mullett is the Lead Pastor of Worship at Calvary Church in Clearwater, FL. Kyle earned his B.S. in Worship and Music Studies from Liberty University (’09) and his M.A. in Christian Ministries with an emphasis in History and Theology of Christian Worship from Asbury Theological Seminary (’12). He is currently studying at the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies and plans to graduate with his Doctor of Worship Studies degree in June 2026. Kyle is particularly interested in discovering how Scripture and the last twenty centuries of Christian worship might inform the renewal of worship theology and practice in churches today.
As the Lead Pastor of Worship and Production, Kyle leads a team of worship leaders who shepherd God’s people through Scripture, prayer, ordinances, music, and technology. For the past eleven school years, he has taught several worship classes at Calvary Christian High School, his alma mater. Kyle has been married to his high school sweetheart, Leigh Anna, for 15 years. They have two beautiful daughters and eight spunky, egg-laying backyard chickens.
Dr. Anthony Randall earned his D.Min. from Liberty University, where he focused on small groups and discipleship. He also received two additional graduate degrees in Discipleship (M.A.) and Professional Ministries (M.Div.). With over 20 years of service as a pastor and church planter, he has dedicated his ministry to fostering spiritual growth and developing thriving faith communities. Along with his pastoral experience Dr. Randall has been teaching Theology and Biblical Studies at Calvary Christian High School for almost 10 years. Throughout this time he has shown devotion to mentoring students and preparing them for impactful ministry through biblical teaching and practical ministry training.
Dr. Dave Rice
Dr. Dave Rice earned his M.Div. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and his D.Min. in Pastoral Leadership from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
He served as a pastor and educator for Southern Baptists for more than 35 years.

Dr. Willy Rice
Dr. Willy Rice is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama with a B.A. degree (1985) and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree (1990) and a Doctor of Ministry degree (1996).
Willy was called, licensed and ordained to preach at Calvary under the leadership of Dr. Bill Anderson, who pastored Calvary Church for 27 years. Willy Rice returned to Calvary in 2004 to lead the church.
Lori Harding
Office Manager/Student Services Administrator
Lori holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting & Finance from the University of North Florida. She brings extensive experience helping leaders and organizations build strong relationships, manage change, strengthen brand awareness, and improve workflow for greater efficiency and growth.
Passionate about exceptional service and communication, Lori supports Calvary’s students and staff by ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the college, managing student records, communications, marketing and administrative support, while fostering a welcoming, faith-centered environment where everyone can thrive.
Lori also served as a Missionary in Chicago for three years with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) working as a College Campus Minister and then as the Director of Volunteerism supporting student and church discipleship and outreach.
After many years of caregiving for her parents, Lori moved to St. Petersburg, Florida, to enjoy the sunshine and sunsets with family and friends.
