A golf course reimagined through painting and pop sensibility. Playful characters,YeosiandO-gong,sharelittlestoriesfromthefield. Intoday’ssociety,manyembracesolitudewhilepresentingonlyfragments of happiness on social media. Behind these cheerful images often lies loneliness.Smilescaughtonscreenfadethemomentthephoneisturned off,leavingonlyemptiness.
By contrast, the fox (Yeosi), Ogong, Pinknyang, and Tsundere Wolf in my works embody a different world. They live unadorned, natural lives walkingtogether,enjoyingoneanother’scompany,andsharingtheirdays. Their existence is not a fleeting moment but a continuous flow of life. Throughthem,Iexpressmyownwishtowalkajoyfulpath,firmlygrounded andinharmonywiththosearoundme.
Myartisticjourneybeganonthegolfcourse.Atfirst,itwassimplyaplaceof rest awidefieldthateasedmyfrustrationsandgavemeroomtobreathe. Winningorlosingwasneverthepoint.Instead,theexpressionsIobserved andthescenesIexperiencedbecamesourcesofinspiration.Fromthere,the foxanditscompanionsbegantoappearinmypaintings,graduallygrowing innumberastheseriesevolved.
Alongtheway,Idiscoveredthatthefoxisanendangeredspecies.Thevery spaces where we now play and enjoy leisure once belonged to them. Realizing this, I came to see my work not only as a narrative of companionshipbutalsoasaplacewherethesefriendssymbolicallyreclaim thehabitatstheyhavelostinreality.
Throughmyart,Iaimtorestorethescentofourtruehomeland nature andtorememberboththemeaningofexistenceandthehappinessofliving together.
