COURAGE IS A VITAL CHARACTER TRAIT THAT EMPOWERS CHILDREN TO FACE FEARS, OVERCOME OBSTACLES, AND PURSUE THEIR DREAMS. IT IS THE ABILITY TO ACT IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY, UNCERTAINTY, OR DISCOMFORT. BY INSTILLING COURAGE IN CHILDREN, WE EQUIP THEM WITH THE CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENCE NEEDED TO NAVIGATE LIFE'S CHALLENGES. HERE'S HOW WE CAN ENCOURAGE AND FOSTER COURAGE IN YOUNG MINDS.

Firstly, lead by example. Children learn best through observation, so it's important for parents and educators to demonstrate acts of courage in their own lives. Whether it's trying something new, standing up for what's right, or facing personal fears, let children witness bravery in action. You can also share stories of people who have shown bravery in different ways.
Secondly, create a supportive environment. Encourage children to take safe risks and explore new experiences. Always make sure to give them reassurance and validation when they express their fears or concerns. This allows children to feel seen and heard. Emphasize that mistakes and setbacks are natural parts of growth and learning.
Additionally, teach problemsolving skills. Help children develop strategies to navigate challenges and find solutions. Encourage them to break big tasks into smaller, manageable steps. When they do come to you with a problem, ask “what’s
your plan?” If they don’t know, you can offer some suggestions, but empower them to come up with these on their own.
Celebrate your child’s bravery and effort. Recognize and acknowledge his/ her acts of courage, no matter how small. Praise them for their willingness to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, or stand up for themselves or others.
Teach children that courage is also about trusting their gut, honouring their instincts, and having the bravery to say no when something doesn’t feel right. By encouraging them to listen to their inner voice and set boundaries, we empower them to make choices aligned with their values and develop a strong sense of self respect.
Lastly, teach resilience. Help children understand that setbacks and failures are not indicators of their worth but opportunities for growth. Teach them to embrace challenges and persist even when things get tough.

BY ENCOURAGING AND FOSTERING COURAGE IN CHILDREN, WE EMPOWER THEM TO FACE FEARS, TAKE RISKS, AND EMBRACE NEW OPPORTUNITIES. IN DOING SO, WE EQUIP THEM WITH INVALUABLE LIFE SKILLS THAT WILL ENABLE THEM TO NAVIGATE CHALLENGES AND PURSUE THEIR DREAMS WITH CONFIDENCE.

Abiansemal Village in Bali is about to undergo a transformation! Local residents are harnessing the village's hidden potential to create a brand new tourism destination focused on agro-tourism.

This innovative project will be divided into three distinct zones:
* Upstream (North): Water tourism will take center stage here. The Tukad Yeh Penet river, bordering Mengwi District, will be the heart of this zone. Plans include developing three natural springs, a public swimming pool, a yoga studio, and exciting activities like tubing rafting and sling sot.
* Central: This area will be dedicated to showcasing the beauty and bounty of agriculture. Envision 25 hectares of lush paddy fields transformed into a haven for agro-tourism. Visitors can explore meticulously designed trekking paths amidst the rice fields and rivers, all adorned with vibrant flora. Here, the concept of agro-tourism comes alive as tourists can

participate in activities like fruit picking and enjoying the fruits of the land (pun intended!).

* Downstream (South): This zone will provide support services for the entire tourism village.
This project is a collaborative effort between the local community and VillageOwned Enterprises. Local farmers have generously contributed their land for this endeavor. In return, the village government will ensure their agricultural needs are met, providing necessary seeds and guaranteeing a fair return on their crops. However, farmers will need to cultivate
crops that cater to tourist interests.
The Abiansemal Village agrotourism project promises to be a win-win situation. Tourists can expect a unique and enriching experience, while the local community enjoys a boost in their economy. Farmers will gain professional involvement through the Village-Owned Enterprises, and the entire Badung Regency can look forward to a revitalized tourism sector that attracts both domestic and international visitors.
This exciting project is sure to put Abiansemal Village on the map as a must-visit destination in Bali!

Bali's Vibrant Culture Is Deeply Rooted In Tradition, And Sacred Dances Like Sanghyang Jaran Reflect This Beautifully. This Dance Transcends Mere Entertainment, Weaving Together Spiritual Connection, Cultural Expression, And Protection For The Community.
Sanghyang Jaran, meaning "divine horse" in Balinese, is a sacred dance performed during religious ceremonies, often alongside other Sanghyang dances. These dances hold a unique purpose: to ward off misfortune. The dancers themselves enter a trance-like state, believed to be possessed by revered spirits. The dance's origins, documented on lontar leaves (ancient palm leaf manuscripts), trace back to 1894 in Klungkung Regency. The story tells of a revered holy man, Ida Pedanda Gede Punia, who faced exile from Bangli. Finding refuge in Nusa Lembongan, he was warmly welcomed and eventually established the Sanghyang Jaran dance as a sacred art form. What sets Sanghyang Jaran apart is its distinct lack of gamelan music, the traditional Balinese instrumental ensemble.
Instead, the dance is accompanied by vibrant songs, with the dancers' movements mirroring the song's tempo.Interestingly, the dancers carry props resembling horses, reflecting the dance's name. One of the most captivating aspects of Sanghyang Jaran is the dancers' ability to walk on burning coconut husks while in a trance. This seemingly painful feat is believed to be a testament to the dancers' spiritual connection. Beyond its captivating performance, Sanghyang Jaran serves a profound purpose. It's performed to safeguard the community from disaster and express gratitude to the divine for answered prayers and fulfilled hopes. This tradition encourages a sense of thankfulness, a core value in Balinese spirituality. Sadly, the practice of Sanghyang Jaran is dwindling, with only two active groups remaining: Sanghyang Jaran Oncar Srawa and Sang Hyang Tedok Pangkung. Despite this decline, the dance's essence –protection, gratitude, and spiritual connection – continues to resonate within the Balinese community.

BIG QUESTION, WITH A LOT OF STRONG OPINIONS. LET’S LOOK AT THE PROS AND CONS!

PROS: Gets Sweaty Hair Out of The Way
If you do exercise and have long hair, it serves a purpose.
CONS: Causes Hair Breakage
If you tie your top knot too tight, it is definitely going to cause breakage which will translate to flyaway strands and frizz. It can also cause dryness and breakage at the crown area as it is propped up right there. Remember to always be gentle with your hair, especially when tying a top knot.
Can Lead to Headaches
When you wear your hair up on your crown too long it is bound to cause some amount of pain. Think about it, bobby pins to secure it in place, a hair tie tightly wound to secure your locks in a top knot, sleek twisted top knots that are as tight as
they look. All this is going to initiate a headache, so it is best to let your hair down sometimes and massage it if need be.
Leads to Increase in Hair Fall
Have you noticed lots of hair on your hair tie? Top knots can cause hair fall if it is worn continuously as it has the tendency to tug on the hair. Wearing top knots 24/7 is not advisable if you are trying to reduce hair fall.
The “Manbun Ick”
After the hipsters ran with the manbuns a few years ago, the style has been out of favour with a lot of the cool kids and the pretty chickas.
So, with that in mind, we can recommend a top knot in the gym, but probably not the bar. You can thank us later!

High Up In Bali's Mountains, Nestled Amidst The Cool Air And Serene Beauty Of Lake Bedugul, Lies A Unique Treat Waiting To Be DiscoveredThe Aptly Named Snow Fruit.
Unlike the tropical fruits Bali is typically known for, snow fruit boasts a soft, cottonlike texture that resembles snow at first glance. Don't be fooled by its appearance though! This fruit, native to South America (Inga Edulis), is cultivated by the local Bedugul community and can also be found growing wild in the surrounding forests. The true magic of snow fruit lies in its taste. Take a bite and you'll be greeted by a subtle hint of vanilla followed by a burst of sweetness. But that's not all - the fruit also delivers a refreshing coldness, a delightful surprise in the warm Balinese climate. However, be warned, the large seeds require a bit of patience and savoring to
fully appreciate the unique flavor. Unlike its readily available tropical cousins, snow fruit is a seasonal treasure. If your visit to Bedugul falls outside harvest season, you're more likely to find strawberries or salak. But fret not, during harvest time, you can find snow fruit sold around Bedugul, specifically in Candikuning Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan Regency, for Rp 40,000 to Rp 50,000 per kilogram. Beyond its delicious taste, some believe snow fruit offers health benefits, from maintaining healthy skin to overall well-being. So, if you find yourself seeking a refreshing escape in Bedugul, keep an eye out for this unique fruit and experience a taste of winter in paradise.

In Bali, where religious practices are interwoven with daily life, offerings hold immense significance. Each ceremony, meticulously planned and executed, requires specific elements. Among these, the kwangen offering stands out for its unique fragrance and symbolism.
The word "kwangen" itself derives from "wangi," meaning fragrant or aromatic. This fragrant offering serves as a beautiful expression of devotion to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, the Almighty God, and all divine manifestations. It's also considered a symbol of "Om Kara" or "Ongkara," a sacred syllable representing the divine.
Through the kwangen, devotees emphasize God's beauty, holiness, and pleasant fragrance, worthy of utmost respect and worship. Visually captivating, the kwangen resembles a small, triangular bouquet. Its base is pointed, while the top unfolds like a blossoming flower. The fragrance comes alive with the vibrant mix of flowers tucked within, like pacah (water jasmine), frangipani, and sandat (ylang-ylang).
But the beauty of the kwangen goes beyond its aesthetics. Each of its six components carries symbolic meaning:
• Kojong: A cone-shaped vessel crafted from banana leaves.
• Pis Bolong: A coin with a hole in the center.
• Plawa: A fragrant leaf, often pandan or another local variety.
• Porosan Silih Asih: Betel leaves tied together.
• Sampian: A fan-shaped structure made from young coconut leaves, resembling the chili (cili).
The meticulous arrangement of these elements within the kojong forms a complete kwangen. Each component, offered with devotion, represents gratitude, respect, and a deep connection with the divine.

Bali's sunshine is beautiful, but it can also get scorching! If you're looking for a delicious way to cool down and recharge while exploring the island, look no further than Es Daluman, a traditional Balinese green fresh drink.

The star ingredient in Es Daluman is green grass jelly, made from the leaves of the Cyclea Barbata plant. This jelly is transformed from humble leaves into a refreshing treat perfect for a hot day. Making Es Daluman is a breeze. The green jelly is simply combined with creamy coconut milk and palm sugar for a touch of sweetness. If you prefer a less sweet drink, just ask the vendor to go easy on the palm sugar. The final touch? Ice cubes to ensure a frosty and invigorating experience.
Es Daluman isn't just delicious, it's also good for you! The green grass jelly is high in fiber and low in calories, making it a guiltfree indulgence. It also boasts anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and its high chlorophyll content helps combat the heat naturally. The beauty of Es Daluman is its affordability and accessibility. You can find it everywhere in Bali, from fancy restaurants to humble roadside vendors. So next time you're in Bali and feeling the heat, grab a glass of Es Daluman and experience a taste of cool, refreshing tradition.
Bali, A Treasure Trove Of Traditions And Customs, Boasts A Vibrant Artistic Heritage. Among Its Many Art Forms, Dance Holds A Special Place, Captivating Tourists Worldwide. For Those Seeking A Unique Cultural Experience, The Baris Poleng Dance, Also Known As The Cang Long Leng Dance, Is A Must-See.
Originating from Penaban Hamlet in Karangasem Regency, Baris Poleng is a sacred dance. It narrates the harrowing tale of a plague that struck the community. The word "gerubug" used in the story describes a sudden and mass die-off,affecting both livestock and humans. This invisible illness claimed many lives swiftly.
Evidence of this historical event can be found in ancient lontar manuscripts, palm leaf recordings that documented Bali's past. Cultural observers and lontar enthusiasts believe the Baris Poleng dance serves as a powerful reminder of the plague that ravaged Dukuh Penaban.
Performed solely by men, the Baris Poleng features dancers adorned in the distinctive "poleng bebali" costume. This simple yet striking attire consists of a wide cloth wrapped around the dancers' bodies, woven with a checkered pattern of white, black, and gray. A single hibiscus flower tucked behind the ear adds a touch of elegance. The dancers also carry a keris, a traditional dagger, and a shield adorned with a floral center. The dance itself is energetic, fueled by the rhythmic chants of the performers. However, due to its sacred nature, the Baris Poleng is only showcased during specific rituals, such as Usaba Kapat and Manis Kuningan.
Beyond the captivating dance, Penaban Hamlet offers a plethora of cultural gems. The Lontar Museum, the sole one in East Bali, houses a fascinating collection of ancient lontar manuscripts. Furthermore, the hamlet boasts breathtaking natural scenery and captivating springs, making it a well-rounded destination for any traveler seeking a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty. So, why not add Penaban Hamlet to your Bali itinerary and experience the captivating Baris Poleng dance firsthand?
