evie’s Eagle Eye Sesame seeds are sneaky You always have to look.

They crouch in every cranny They lurk in every nook.

They hide out on a veggie pie They lie low on a bun.

They sneak into a sushi roll. You never find just one.

But I have honed my eagle eye And I can always spot them.

When I do

H

I stand and shout

r me! o f ay r ur I got ‘em!

Asher’s Big Sneeze Don’t hang around and do not hover. Hurry up and run for cover. A drippy mess of goopy green A turbo powered slime machine

Is going to fling you upside down And send you off to Snotty Town.

I don’t mean to be impolite But it won’t be a pretty sight.

So everybody heed me please And run away before I sneeze.

Is Not... Is Stew!

Oh no! What should we do? There are peanuts in the peanut stew!

Pour it out and scrub the pot. Look in the pantry to see what we’ve got.

Cabbage and carrots and onions and greens And two whole jars of soft butter beans. Spices and herbs and a can of tomatoes And there in the back is a bag of potatoes.

Throw everything in the very same pot. Cook it until it’s fragrant and hot.

We’ll make something delicious. We’ll make something new. A perfectly peanutless peanut stew.

A Nutty Riddle Hazelnuts are not my friends. Peanuts call for epi pens. Walnuts make me feel unwell. Cashews cause my lips to swell.

Nuts that I can eat are scant. I call pecans pecan’ts. There is one nut that I can eat. It’s soft and yummy, round and sweet.

Here’s a clue to solve the riddle. It has a hole right in the middle.

Answer: Donuts

Check your donut. Some may have nuts!

What Ilk Is Your Milk?

I can’t drink milk from a cow. I don’t know why or how.

I couldn’t then and I can’t now.

I can’t drink milk from a cow.

There’s plenty of milk I can drink. Probably more than you think. From sheep, goats, almonds and oats And mammoths if they weren’t extinct.

Coconut milk is yummy.

Flax feels good in my tummy.

Cashew and soy are milky joy.

Buffalo isn’t humdrummy.

Rice is a favorite of mine. Pea is surprisingly fine.

Any I’ve missed? Please add to the list.

But yak is where I draw the line.

Fiona McFee Fiona McFee is allergic to fur. You can’t be her pet if you bark or you purr. Neither gerbil nor hamster not even a mouse Would ever be welcome in Fiona’s house.

On her birthday she begged for a puppy named Ted But was given a litter of pet rocks instead. One morning in May her Aunt Bea came to visit And said to her, “Dearest Fiona, what is it?

You look so dreary, so teary, so blue Is there anything I can do for you?” Fiona confessed that she longed for a pet But knew it was something she never would get.

Aunt Bea placed her finger on the tip of her nose. (This was her signature thinking pose). “I’ve got it!” she cried, “I know what to do. Tomorrow I’ll have a surprise for you.”

The next day Fiona got her wish— A tankful of fabulous, frolicking fish. They glow red, blue, gold and sparkly green The loveliest creatures she’d ever seen.

She watches them play. She looks after them well. And in her spare time she has taught them to spell

.

Ahoy Mateys I’m allergic to wheat. You’re allergic to cheese. You can’t eat eggs. Cats make me sneeze.

But...

I’m not allergic to you.

You’re not allergic to me.

So we can play pirates in my backyard

And pretend we’ve been captured at sea.

We can take hikes and ride our bikes And make up long silly plays. We can do all the things friends do For days and days and days.

Eggs Please! I’d like to try them poached. I’d like to try them fried. I’d like to try them scrambled With ketchup on the side.

I’d eat them with a fork. I’d eat them with a spoon. I’d eat them on a rocket ship Flying to the moon.

I’d eat them while I’m wearing Polka dot pajamas

I’d try them in a cookie.

Riding on a Ferris wheel

I’d try them in a cake.

With opera singing llamas.

I’d try them any way at all Just one for heaven’s sake!

The Egg Ladder I started with a bit of egg Then more and more each day Until I knew that I could eat An egg and be okay.

Not everyone can reach The very tippy top. Some of us can have a bit And then we have to stop.

I climbed to the topmost rung Which proved to be a waste. It turns out when it comes to eggs I don’t much like the taste.

Nope. No thanks. Nope. No thanks. I am just fine. Not for me. I must decline. Offer that to Ben or Ed. I’ll have something else instead. Go ask Leah. It’s my guess She will happily say yes. Cousin Claire will eat it too. I cannot! So shoo shoo shoo!

Soon I’ll have another treat. Something yummy I can eat. Yes I have an allergy And I know what’s best for me.

That is all I have to say. Nope. No thanks. Have a good day.

Walnut and Peanut Peanut and Walnut are two classy cats. One prefers bowties the other likes hats.

Tuesdays at seven they sing in a choir.

Sundays they dine out in fancy attire.

Peanut and Walnut dressed to the nines

Met at a café where the swanky set dines.

They sat themselves down in the elegant venue And slowly perused the rather long menu. A sign on the wall said Allergen Free Grass Fed Beef and Organic Green Tea.

Allergen Free

The two friends decided on boeuf a la puff.

They waited and waited then left in a huff. They’ll never return for they had observed That Peanuts and Walnuts were never served.

imaginary friends Imaginary friends

Depending on the day

Eat imaginary food.

Depending on their mood.

They munch on mini mumplings. They feast on French festunes. They chomp on cheesy chumplets And savour buttered bloons.

If I burp or dribble, They never seem to care. When I ask for seconds There’s always some to spare.

rashios If I eat pistachios I break out in a rashio. If I chew a cashew I break out in a rash too. As for seeds – I’m rash free.

SesaWHO? SesaME!

More Big Sneezes There was a boy named Colin Who sneezed when close to pollen. He sneezed so loud He burst a cloud And now the rain is fallen’.

ME OW! I’m sorry to say I’m allergic to cats. I can’t give them cuddles. I can’t give them pats. From their ears to their rears From their nose to their knees Every inch of a cat Makes me sniffle and sneeze.

They make my throat itch And they make my eyes red.

So I have decided...

... to love dogs instead.
