WALDEN’S

Slow Down, Savor, and Celebrate the Season.Celebrate

Dear Friends,
There’s an undeniable magic in winter portraits. Maybe it’s the richness of velvet and wool, or the way soft light seems to wrap everything in quiet grace. But we believe it’s more than that—it’s the season’s stillness that gently reminds us what matters most: one another.
Lately, our hearts have been drawn to something especially meaningful—portraits that celebrate the bond between parents and their older children. Elegant. Timeless. Irreplaceable.
Sons with their fathers. Daughters with their mothers. Moments that speak without words and live forever on your walls.
At Waldens, we find joy in capturing warmth and love amid winter’s hush. This season, let’s create portraits that reflect your story—artwork to be cherished now and for generations to come.

Winter Family Fun: Simple Joys for the Season
Because connection isn’t only captured in portraits—it’s lived in small, beautiful moments.
Here are a few favorite ways to create new memories this winter:
• Build a snowman or have a playful snowball “portrait moment.”
• Host a cozy family game night with a hot cocoa bar.
• Plan a winter picnic indoors—blankets, twinkle lights, and all.
• Watch old family movies and laugh at the hairstyles.
• Over dinner, have everyone share their favorite memory from the past year.

Sometimes the simplest days become the ones we treasure most.

Add dehydrated marshmallows to your hot cocoa bar for fun.

Our Winter Table Favorites
When the days are short and the evenings long, the kitchen becomes the heart of the home. Here are a few of our favorite foods (and recipes)—simple, comforting, and made for sharing.
Creamy White Chicken Chili
Warm, hearty, and cozy enough to chase away any chill. Perfect for snow days or slow Sundays and easy for the “cook” to get on the table.
Baked Brie with Honey and Rosemary
A little indulgence never hurt anyone. Serve with toasted baguette slices and a touch of sparkle in your glass.
Peppermint Bark
A family favorite that’s easy to make and impossible to resist. Let the kids help with this one—it’s pure holiday joy.
“Every good memory deserves something delicious.”

Time has a way of slipping through our fingers…

Now is the perfect time to plan the portraits that will tell your story for generations to come. portrait.

That was the beginning. My next 2 children got their portraits done at age 4 and then again all 3 at age 18. Over the years, we have had family portraits done also.
Some of my most valued treasures are the beautiful Walden portraits that are hanging in my home. Classic, timeless treasures.

For winter portraits, we love clothing choices that feel rich and warm.

Think solid tones that photograph beautifully—deep browns, soft caramels, warm creams, deep grays, classic blacks, and knits that add quiet sophistication without distraction.
Sweaters, simple long-sleeve tops, and refined layers create depth and softness in the portrait while keeping the focus where it belongs: on faces, connection, and emotion.
These timeless winter palettes are elevated and designed to create artwork that remains stunning on your walls for generations.
