Featuring an expansive collection of model totem poles from 19th and 20th century Northwest Coast artists, sculptures included in the auction touch down on notable artistic visions associated with the subject over the past 100 years.
Works by foundational Kwakwakaʼwakw sculptors Arthur Shaughnessy (Hemasilakw), and Charlie James (Yakuglas), as well as the first professional female carver of model totem poles, Ellen Neel, are included, as are works by makers Eli Tait, Paul Jones, Don Yeomans, August Cicero, Henry Robertson (Ga’ba’baawk), and the Williams family.
