The Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce is an independent, non-profit business organization representing the Bentonville area communities and is the premier advocate for businesses in Bentonville. We work daily to promote a healthy, vibrant economy while protecting and advancing the interests of our members and the community as a whole. We work in conjunction with citizens, businesses, and our educational and governmental partners to improve their quality of life, and we are very active in business expansion efforts.
We bring businesses together to collectively accomplish what no business professional can achieve alone.
The Chamber aligns itself with more than 1,000 businesses in the area and is governed by a 19-member board of directors who represent the wide range of businesses among the organization’s membership. Downtown Bentonville is the energetic heart of the city, a vibrant destination where world-class art, award-winning dining, outdoor adventure and small-town charm come together in one walkable district. What was once a quiet town square has evolved into one of America’s most dynamic cultural destinations.
Here, history meets modern creativity. Visitors can explore The Walmart Museum on one side of the square, discover contemporary art at 21c Museum Hotel Bentonville on the other, and stroll streets lined with local shops, cafés and inviting public spaces.
The historic downtown square hosts many of the city’s signature gatherings, including the Bentonville Farmers Market, lively First Friday celebrations and the acclaimed Bentonville Film Festival. Just north of downtown, Compton Gardens & Arboretum connects by trail to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where art and nature meet in spectacular fashion.
Bentonville is also internationally known as a mountain biking destination, with miles of trails accessible right from downtown and hundreds more throughout Northwest Arkansas. Riders can roll from the square to legendary trail systems like Slaughter Pen Mountain Bike Park and Coler Mountain Bike Preserve in just minutes.
Beyond the square, districts throughout downtown continue to evolve. The Arts District is home to the Momentary, while the Market District features destinations such as 8th Street Market and Brightwater: A Center for the Study of Food – helping shine a national spotlight on Bentonville’s creative and culinary energy.
Since opening in 2011, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art has welcomed more than 14 million visitors with free general admission, fulfilling founder Alice Walton’s vision of making world-class art accessible to all. Nestled in a wooded Ozark valley and connected to downtown Bentonville by the Art Trail, the museum is named for the nearby Crystal Spring and the bridge-inspired design by internationally acclaimed Moshe Safdie and Safdie Architects. Its collection
spans five centuries of American art, from historic masterworks to current day, complemented by a dynamic schedule of temporary exhibitions.
In June 2026, Crystal Bridges unveils its transformative 114,000-square-foot expansion, increasing the museum’s size by 50 percent and ushering in a bold new era for one of America’s most celebrated cultural destinations. The expansion introduces new galleries, art studios, educational spaces, a community floor, outdoor gathering areas and a new café, while every gallery throughout the museum has been thoughtfully reinstalled to create a fresh journey through American art, architecture and nature.

Housed in a thoughtfully reimagined former cheese factory, the Momentary has become one of the region’s premier destinations for live music, presenting concerts, festivals and immersive performances throughout the year. Its 2026 lineup includes acclaimed artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Wilco, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Lord Huron, Death Cab for Cutie, Sierra Ferrell and Rhiannon Giddens, along with the return of the electronic music festival Momentous. Indoor shows, outdoor concerts and monthly nightlife events make the campus a yearround home for discovery and celebration.
The Momentary also features changing art exhibitions, outdoor art, and culinary experiences. Going on view in Summer 2026, two exhibitions centered on everyday objects and American life include Lucy Sparrow: The Beginning of Convenience, an immersive
installation featuring more than 20,000 hand-crafted felt replicas of supermarket products in a nostalgic grocery setting, and an exhibition of photographs by Chuck Ramirez that transforms ordinary consumer goods into reflections of memory, identity and community.

One of downtown Bentonville’s most popular attractions, The Walmart Museum is located inside Sam Walton’s original 5&10 variety store on the historic square. Through interactive exhibits, memorable artifacts and immersive galleries, visitors can trace Walmart’s remarkable journey from a single smalltown store to one of the world’s most recognized retailers while learning about

There’s something amazing at the corner of J Street and Museum Way in Bentonville. Scott Family Amazeum sparks curiosity, creativity and discovery through hands-on STEAM experiences for children, families and learners of all ages. With approximately 50,000 square feet of interactive exhibit and learning spaces, the museum brings science, technology, engineering, arts and math to life through playful exploration inspired by the landscape, culture and innovative spirit of Northwest Arkansas.
Inside, guests can tinker, build, experiment and imagine through engaging exhibits and ever-evolving programs designed to make learning active, open-ended and fun. Outdoor spaces add even more opportunities for year-round discovery and seasonal adventures. The Amazeum is also planning a major expansion
that will add new learning environments, outdoor experiences and enhanced spaces for young children and families. Special events are offered throughout the year, including Priceless Nights on most Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7 p.m., a pay-asyou-wish program that helps make the museum accessible to all. Lawrence Plaza, a 7,000-square-foot multiuse facility just north of the downtown square, offers family friendly events year-round. From mid-May through September, the plaza is converted into a summer splash park, which features more than 80 fountain jets and safe water fun for the whole family. From midNovember through January, the plaza is an ice-skating rink that has themed skate nights,
hockey games, skating lessons and more. The rink is available for private parties, and hosts free movie nights during the winter Ice Rink holiday season on a giant inflatable outdoor screen.
A beloved downtown tradition since 1977, the Bentonville Farmers Market returns to the Bentonville square each Saturday from April 11 through October 31, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. What began as a small gathering of local farmers has grown into one of the region’s most popular weekly events, connecting visitors and residents with the growers, makers and small businesses behind their products.
Shoppers will find an exceptional selection of locally grown produce, fruits, eggs, meats,
breads, honey, flowers, plants and handmade goods, along with artisan foods, soaps, gifts and more. Live music, family activities and the lively atmosphere of the square add to the experience. Downtown Bentonville comes alive each month for First Friday, a series of free, familyfriendly celebrations held on the square and surrounding streets from April through October. Taking place the first Friday of each month from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., the popular series brings locals and visitors together for unforgettable evenings in the heart of downtown.
The 2026 season theme, “First Friday Live,” spotlights live music, entertainment and interactive experiences. More than 150
vendor booths featuring artists, makers, food vendors, local businesses and community organizations create a lively festival atmosphere, joined by food trucks, carnival games, kids’ activities and performances throughout the evening. With the Arts and Market Districts growing in vitality and influence, bike-friendly development, nationally recognized dining and an everevolving public art scene have become central to downtown's appeal. Hundreds of works of art can be discovered across the city – from outdoor installations at the Momentary to neon signs downtown, sculptures along the trails at Crystal Bridges, and art in nature at Osage Park and Compton Gardens & Arboretum.

In the Arts District, located just south of the square, the unique 230,000-square-foot Ledger building is defined by its walkable, bikeable six-story switchback path. The development offers highly adaptable workspaces, on-demand conference rooms and flexible leasing. Each floor features outdoor access by way of terraces designed for open-air meetings and conversations. The public is invited to bike or walk the Ledger’s vertical neighborhood and experience expansive views from the rooftop terrace.
Anchoring the Market District, the 8th Street Market is a communitycentered food hub and home to the nationally recognized Brightwater culinary school. Opening in June 2026, the OZ Trails Bike Park introduces Arkansas’ first lift-served mountain biking experience, bringing a new style of riding to the Ozarks. Located along Highway 71 at Mercy Way on the Bentonville/Bella Vista border, the park represents a major milestone in the region’s ongoing evolution as a global hub for outdoor recreation.
Designed for riders of all levels, the park features more than 20 miles of purpose-built gravity trails, ranging from beginner-friendly green runs to advanced and expert-level lines. In 1837, a site was designated as the county seat for Benton County, named in honor of Thomas Hart Benton, a U.S. senator from Missouri who was responsible for helping Arkansas attain statehood in 1836. Bentonville was the first town established in Benton County in 1873, and today continues to be the seat of county government. The downtown square quickly became the place for commerce and entertainment. By the end of the Civil War, apples put Benton County on the map. In 1901, Benton County was the largest apple-producing county in the nation with more than 300 varieties coming just from Bentonville alone. In 1921, large-scale broiler chicken production began and the county was ranked as the largest eggproducing county in Arkansas. The 1930s brought continued growth for the poultry and dairy industry. In 1950, Sam Walton opened Walton’s 5&10 on the Bentonville Square. Bentonville has continued to grow into a thriving business and cultural center, and is home to the headquarters of Walmart Inc., ranked the largest corporation by revenue on the Fortune Global 500 list for 13 years in a row.
Bentonville is ranked as one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. So what has led to this unprecedented growth? It was the first hospital in Arkansas to be designated a Baby-Friendly birth facility and supports VBAC and doula-assisted births.
Siloam Springs Regional Hospital is a 73-bed hospital offering a wide range of services, including inpatient and outpatient surgery, emergency care, intensive care, obstetrics, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation services, providing essential care to the western portion of the region.

The school was named in honor of the late Iris Louise McPhetridge Thaden, a proud
Arkansan from Bentonville and one of the greatest aviators of her time. Her childhood home, the McPhetridge House, was saved from demolition in 2017 and now serves as Thaden’s Office of Admissions. The 30-acre campus also has a rich history, having served as the home of the Benton County Fair for nearly 80 years and, prior to that, the site of other educational institutions, including Bentonville High School when Louise McPhetridge was a student there in the early 1920s.
