The South Ayrshire Volunteer Awards ceremony is an event which is held annually during Volunteers Week to recognise the remarkable contribution of hundreds of South Ayrshire volunteers to local organisations. This year we welcomed over 215 volunteers and organisation representatives into the hall, with even more guests watching from the balcony.
Tricia was born in Malaysia and has lived in Ayr since 2002 She has volunteered with many different organisations since then including Ayrshire Hospice, Amnesty International, Combat Stress and a local food bank. Since coming out of lockdown she has been volunteering for Hope Wellbeing which has given her something to focus on and put her energy into.

After moving to Prestwick and attending a couple of the Friends of the Broadway events, Susan decided to start volunteering for them when her retirement provided the perfect opportunity to do so.
She is part of the eBay Marketing Team which is responsible for accepting donations then packaging and selling them online to raise funds She also helps out with maintenance tasks such as painting, however, her favourite job is (wo)manning the ticket booth on weekends for the pop up museum and screenings.

Patient Transport Driver
Volunteer Patient Transport Drivers allow patients to access dialysis treatment at University Hospital Ayr. Volunteers should be aged 21-80, have a full UK licence and be willing to use their own vehicle for transport (travel expenses paid).
CPR Champion
As a CPR Champion you will support St John Scotland as part of their partnership with Save a Life for Scotland by delivering bystander CPR awareness and demonstrating the use of a defibrillator.

Jamie started volunteering with The Carrick Centre through Project Search. After his placement ended he applied to volunteer with The Carrick Centre and has been volunteering at the food pantry. He said that the skills he has learned while at the pantry has allowed him to help his parents with shopping, cooking and meal planning.
He enjoys volunteering because he gets to meet new people and learn new things.
