The participation of Ukraine in the EXPO 2017 “Future Energy” International Exhibition, which will take place in Astana, is an opportunity to demonstrate to the world Ukrainian innovations related to energy efficiency. Ukraine is a strong state, which during the past several years has adequately met all challenges which it faced in the energy sector. We have something of interest to businessmen and investors. We are reforming housing and communal services system, carrying out energy efficiency reforms, implementing European standards of energy use, restructuring the renewable energy sector. Today we are interested in attracting international partners and implementing joint investment projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy and alternative fuel sectors. Ukrainian producers already have substantial achievements in this field. We are ready to propose to our international partners perspective joint projects concerning introduction of new energy efficiency standards as well as energy saving technologies. The slogan of the exhibition – “Future Energy” – is deeply symbolic. Ukraine and the whole world strive for energy of new quality. More effective and accessible. DEAR EXPO-2017 PARTICIPANTS! It is a great honour for Ukraine to participate in a large-scale EXPO-2017 International Specialized Exhibition “Future Energy”. Renewable energy development is a priority issue for the Government of Ukraine. According to international obligations of Ukraine and the National Renewable Energy Action Plan until 2020 our goal is to achieve 11% of energy produced from renewable sources in final energy consumption by 2020. Therefore we are improving the legal framework, creating favorable conditions for business and investors in this sphere. In particular, in 2015 the Ukrainian Parliament adopted the Law of Ukraine 514-VIII on stimulation electricity production from renewable sources. Due to this Law “green” tariffs are fixed to EUR up to 2030 and are amid the highest in the world. In addition, the law has cancelled the requirement for local content and set up 10% premium for Ukrainian equipment usage. “Green” tariff is introduced for rooftop solar panels and wind turbines of private households with capacity up to 30 kW. As a result, 120.6 MW of renewable power capacities were put into operation in 2016. It is 4 times more than in 2015. Apart from that, the rooftop solar panels market has begun to grow rapidly in Ukraine. Another important guarantee for investors who operate in heat production from renewable sources is a stimulating tariff for heat from alternative sources defined by the Law. All these and other legislative achievements and technologies will be presented at the National stand of Ukraine. On June 15, 2017 there will be also a business forum during the National Day of Ukraine. Besides, at the Ukrainian stand you may find the integrated information searching system presenting Ukrainian companies working in renewable energy and their potential projects. Ukraine is open for dialogue and investment! We look forward to cooperating with international partners.
