The designs selected for this Exhibition illustrate the latest tendencies in housing. Although different in type, scope, appearance and materials used, the designs presented have many characteristics in common. Some of them develop new models of housing, others are motivated by the interests and needs of the residents or observation of technological, social or environmental conditions. In all of them, one may recognize a continuing aspiration for higher and better housing quality. The examples presented are characterized by innovations in terms of housing space, variations and grouping of housing units, connection of indoor and outdoor space, articulation of residents’ individuality, integration of housing and other functions, etc. Those are innovative suggestions, attractive and functional designs offering stimulating answers which will, no doubt about it, influence the concept of housing architecture in our age.
