2018 will be a special year to visit York. Never
has there been such a spectacular and
vast array of events and festivals. There's horticultural festival fun at Bloom!, a city-wide celebration in early July. September sees the return of the Waggon Plays, traditional street theatre dating back to the Middle Ages.
York is also showing its contemporary side
with a new festival in the autumn – York
Mediale, a 10 day international media arts
festival to celebrate York’s status as the
UK’s only UNESCO designated City of
Media Arts. And throughout the summer, York will be hosting Shakespeare's Rose Theatre - Europe’s
first ever pop-up Shakespearean theatre.
