I don’t know where June and July went, but here it is August already! Summer is the busiest season of the year for the Chamber. There is so much going on and “time flies when you are having fun”. Have you been able to attend any of the Music on the Green or Music in the Canyon concerts? How about the Redmond Brewfest and Nigh Glow and what about the Deschutes County Fair so much community enjoyment packed into Summer! Be sure to take advantage of the great weather and abundant sunshine and enjoy all that Redmond has to offer. Building community is what it’s all about – help make Redmond the best it can be and show up to all the fun! Leadership Redmond August is the month we push to get new participants for this year’s Leadership Redmond program. September is just around the corner, and class begins on the 17th. Tuition for this dynamic program is $800, and applications are accepted until Friday, September 4. I

The Leadership Redmond program introduces participants to some of the dedicated leaders in our community who help make Redmond run smoothly and effectively every day. We work hard to ensure the Leadership Redmond program is fun, educational and respects your personal time. Leadership is nine full days from 8am-5pm, held on the third Thursday of each month, starting in September and running through May and we offer a limited number of scholarships. Leadership Redmond is designed to spark interest and involvement in the community. Many of our current leaders in the community are alumni of this dynamic program. Graduates of the program have become involved in all aspects of leadership throughout our community. Including several Leadership graduates becoming Redmond City Counselors as well as actively participating in all aspects of the community, from service clubs, various

Interested in Serving on the Redmond Chamber Board? Board elections are coming up, and the Redmond Chamber is inviting members who are personally interested in serving to submit their own name for consideration. Serving on the Chamber Board of Directors is an opportunity to take a more active role in the work happening across Redmond’s business community. Board members help guide the Chamber’s direction, contribute to discussions about local business needs, and support the programs, events, and partnerships that keep members connected throughout the year. The Chamber’s work reaches far beyond a single meeting or event. Throughout the year, we create opportunities for members to build relationships, promote their businesses, learn from one another, and stay engaged with the community.
Coffee Clatter gives members a consistent place to connect every Friday morning, meet new people, and learn more about local businesses and organizations. Business After Hours offers a relaxed setting for conversation and relationship-building at member locations. Lunch & Learn programs bring practical education to the business community, with topics designed to help owners, managers, and employees strengthen their skills. The Chamber also celebrates business growth through ribbon cuttings, welcomes new members, highlights local organizations, and helps businesses share their stories with a wider audience. Larger community events, including Music on the Green, the annual Brewfest and Night Glow, and the Redmond Chamber Golf Tournament, bring residents, visitors, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers together. These events create visibility for local businesses while adding to the quality of life that makes Redmond a strong place to live and work. Programs such as Leadership Redmond help develop informed, connected commu-
nity leaders by giving participants a closer look at the people, industries, services, and issues shaping the region. The Chamber also works with community partners, local officials, and business leaders to support economic development and advocate for a healthy business climate. Board members help keep all of this moving forward. They bring ideas, professional experience, and local perspective to the table. They help the Chamber stay focused on the needs of its members while also looking ahead to new opportunities, challenges, and ways to serve the community. Strong board service requires more than simply holding a title. Board members should be prepared to participate in meetings, contribute to discussions, support Chamber initiatives, and stay engaged with members and events. Redmond community programs and educators receive $2,000 from OnPoint Community Credit Union Redmond-area organizations received $2,000 from OnPoint Community Credit Union in August 2026 to support local service programs and educators. 2026 Mark Keener Celebration Golf Tournament OnPoint Community Credit Union donated $1,000 to the 2026 Mark Keener Celebration Golf Tournament for its August 8 fundraiser benefiting Jericho Road. Held at Eagle Crest Ridge Golf Course, the tournament supports Jericho Road’s work with Redmond students, families and individuals facing difficult times. Its programs include weekend food bags for students and families, free meals through Jericho Table, housing assistance and emergency outreach for people navigating economic challenges. OnPoint’s support helps Jericho Road continue providing food, housing and emergency assistance to Redmond-area neighbors. Rotary Club of Redmond Teacher Appreciation Breakfast OnPoint Community Credit Union donated $1,000 to the Rotary Club of Redmond for its annual Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on August 26. Hosted by Redmond Rotarians, the breakfast honors Redmond School District teachers, administrators and staff for their roles in students’ lives. It gives the community a way to thank the people who educate, guide and support local students throughout the year. The sponsorship reflects OnPoint’s roots in education. Founded by 16 schoolteachers in 1932, OnPoint continues to champion education by supporting local events and organizations that recognize educators.

Two Music on the Green Nights Left Summer is moving quickly, and there are only two Music on the Green concerts left this season. The good news is that both nights bring something different to American Legion Park, giving the community two more chances to enjoy live music, local vendors, food, cold drinks, and a relaxed Wednesday evening together. On August 26, Good Trouble takes the stage with arena classic rock and the kind of familiar songs that pull people in right away. Expect strong vocals, big choruses, and plenty of moments that will have the crowd singing along. It should be a lively night with the energy of a much bigger concert, right in the middle of the park. Then, on September 2, Hokule’a Ohana closes out the season with a vibrant performance rooted in Hawaiian and Polynesian dance, storytelling, and tradition. Their show brings color, movement, and a strong sense of connection, making it a memorable way to wrap up another summer of Music on the Green. Vendors open at 5:30 p.m., and live music runs from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Both concerts are free and family-friendly. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, grab dinner from a local vendor, let the kids enjoy the park, and settle in for the evening. Dogs are welcome on leash. Music on the Green has always been about more than the band on stage. It is the familiar rhythm of a Redmond summer evening: friends catching up, families spread out on the grass, kids dancing near the stage, and local businesses and organizations showing up for the community. These final two nights are a chance to enjoy all of that one more time before the season comes to a close. 2026 Summer Recreation Program
One of the most popular and highly anticipated events at Crooked River Ranch each year is the Summer Recreation Program. Families often plan vacations and grandkids' visits around this long-standing tradition, making it one of the highlights of the summer. The program is offered free of charge to Crooked River Ranch residents who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade. Teens are encouraged to participate as Counselors-in-Training (CITs), assisting the adult volunteers throughout the morning while developing leadership skills of their own. Traditionally held during the last two weeks of July, the program aims to register approximately 50 children each week, although no child is turned away if space allows. Each day begins with check-in at 8:45 a.m., followed by swimming from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Children are grouped according to their swimming ability—shallow, intermediate, or deep water—to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. At 10:00 a.m., the group heads to the Ranch Chapel for snacks, songs. Although the chapel serves as the gathering place, the program is not faith-based and welcomes all participants. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., children choose between a variety of activities. Those who enjoy being active can participate in sports such as golf, pickleball, yard games, and other outdoor activities. Kids with a creative side can join the crafts class, where a fun, pre-planned project is completed each day. Activities conclude with pickup at noon. Fridays offer a special end-of-week celebration. After swimming, everyone heads to Mac Park for a morning filled with games, a barbecue, and exciting activities including a bounce house, slip-and-slide, the Crooked River Ranch Fire Department obstacle course, and much more. It's the perfect way to wrap up a funfilled week and send everyone home tired, happy, and looking forward to next year. The Summer Recreation Program is made possible through funding from the Crooked River Ranch Club and Maintenance Association and the dedication of many volunteers. Beyond providing a safe and enjoyable summer activity for local youth, the program helps children build swimming skills, make new friends, stay active, express their creativity, and develop relationships with older mentors and volunteers. Many participants grow up with the program—returning year after year, eventually becoming Counselors-in-Training and later adult volunteers themselves. For more than 20 years, the Summer Recreation Program has been a cherished Crooked River Ranch tradition, and we look forward to continuing this wonderful community event for many years to come.
