Special Projects Coordinator/Intern Visit Brookings is hiring a summer special projects coordinator to assist with events and projects to promote Brookings to visitors and residents. If you are looking for an introduction into the tourism industry or are excited about the possibility of spending the summer in a hands-on, fun, and upbeat office, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities The Special Projects Coordinator will have responsibilities in a variety of areas, giving a broad-based perspective of work in a tourism office. Some of the duties and responsibilities may include the following: •
Event Planning: Assist in production of Miss South Dakota Scholarship program, planning the Upper Midwest Fall Conference, researching winter festivals for ideas to incorporate into annual Frost Fest and National Travel and Tourism Week.

Marketing: Compiling and distributing monthly calendar of events, updating social media content, developing copy for award winning Visit Brookings website, assisting with the creation of the 2024 Visitor Guide

Hospitality: greeting visitors and assisting them with ideas of things to see and do in town, handling requests for meeting and convention bags, assisting with relocation requests.

Office Administration: Fulfilling visitor guide requests, assisting Visit Brookings staff with outreach efforts to build inventories of industry partners.

Other duties as assigned.

Hourly rate of pay $12 - $15/hour.
