Media - Code of Conduct The purpose of this document is to provide guidance to partners and stakeholders attending APAC Travel Marketplace on how to appropriately respond when approached by media.
GENERAL GUIDELINES Only approved DCT spokespeople are authorised to speak to media on behalf of DCT. If you are approached by a journalist for questions that are not specifically regarding your business, politely refer them to our communications team, using the below statement. Our communications representative(s) will make sure to filter media requests and escalate to the appropriate DCT spokesperson as needed. Thank you for your request. Please reach out to the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi’s PR team via email on dct-b2b@hillandknowlton.com. They are responsible for all our B2B PR.. Please keep in mind that as an affiliated partner and stakeholder, you may be asked to speak on behalf of DCT and Abu Dhabi. Do remember that nothing is “off-record”, even in hotel lobbies, restaurants, etc. Do avoid speaking casually about any topics of potential sensitivity/controversy and be aware of the potential for being approached under false pretences. This includes questions regarding the current conflict in the region.
SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES If sharing content regarding the event on your personal social media accounts, we ask that you avoid posting anything that may be perceived as inappropriate in light of the current regional conflict, and to avoid other potentially sensitive or controversial subjects such as politics and religion. We also appreciate if you avoid sharing any confidential information. Please don't hesitate to reach out to our communications team if you are in doubt.
