Kiwanis Club of NW St. Tammany: EMPOWERING KIDS, BUILDING COMMUNITY

In the heart of Folsom, Louisiana, the Kiwanis Club of NW St. Tammany is living out its mission to improve the world—one child and one community at a time. Since organizing in May 2022, this dedicated group of volunteers has grown into a force for good, supporting students, partnering with local organizations, and creating meaningful change throughout the area.
With a focus on youth development, the club runs several schoolbased programs aimed at fostering leadership, service, and character. At Folsom Elementary, the Terrific Kids program, led by Kiwanian Sandra Fredricks, encourages students to grow into the best version of themselves through monthly recognition and mentorship. Over at Folsom Junior High, the Builders Club, headed by member Cara Barry, empowers middle schoolers to lead, serve, and collaborate on campus and in the community.
The club also extends its impact beyond traditional schools, offering support for homeschool and private school students through outreach at Magnolia Park. That same space serves as home to a thriving community garden and the site of the club’s Arbor Day initiative, where a beautiful American Elm was planted in 2025. Around the holidays, the club works closely with local schools to distribute Thanksgiving baskets to families in need—a tradition that will continue this year.
One of the club’s biggest successes is the Cruisin’ Folsom car show, a community-loved event that raises funds for children’s programs and local projects. Proceeds have supported Magnolia Park, the Village of Folsom, and even up-and-coming leaders like Vivienne Buras, who will soon represent Mississippi in the National High School Rodeo Queen competition.
While membership growth remains a top challenge, the club remains energized by its partnerships with the Town of Folsom, the Giddy Up, the fire and police departments, the local library, and Magnolia Park— co-sponsor of the upcoming Free Community Health Fair on July 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Looking ahead, the Kiwanis Club of NW St. Tammany hopes to expand its programs into neighboring schools, collaborate with the Northshore Food Bank, and grow its beloved car show, scheduled next for April 28, 2026. Most importantly, they aim to welcome new members who are passionate about serving children and building a better tomorrow.
GET INVOLVED: Become a member, sponsor or participate in the car show, or visit the upcoming health fair. Follow along on Facebook for updates and opportunities to give back.

Thank You!
When the need is greater more than ever in our community, these businesses and individuals join us in our mission. Thank you for your dedication to making a difference in the lives of others.

FOUNDER OF DENOVA MINDBODY SOLUTIONS INTUITIVE LIFE COACH | TV HOST | AUTHOR
SUPER MOM Debbie Denova
For Debbie Denova, motherhood and mentorship are not just roles—they’re a calling. As the founder of Denova MindBody Solutions, Debbie has built a life centered around transformation: guiding others to live with intention, heal from within, and rise into the truest version of themselves. But her most sacred transformation has been becoming a mother—and building a life that honors both her purpose and her people.
Debbie is the heartbeat of a family full of life and love. Her daughter Lou (18) is a soulful singer and writer, Kenzie (16) a creative spirit with a love for art and fashion, and Harrison (11) brings high energy to everything from boxing to drumming.
Photos by: Embodiment Facilitator - Chelsea Marie with Emerge Entity

“Joy isn’t something you chase—it’s something you create, again and again.”

Years ago, Debbie knew she couldn’t fit her passion or her parenting into the confines of a 9-to-5. So she created something entirely her own. Her coaching programs—delivered from mountaintops, hot springs, beach cabanas, or wherever her soul feels most alive—have helped hundreds of high-performing, heart-centered humans shift their lives. She hosts Good Vibes, a TV show in her hometown of Houma, and will release her first book, Bulletproof Bliss, later this year.
But the true win? Designing a rhythm that lets her be deeply present for her clients and her children. “I’m a recovering workaholic,” Debbie shares. “It took me a long time to understand that success is not how much I get done—but how connected I feel while doing it.” Now, half her week is devoted to her work, and the other half to the ones who matter most.
Debbie’s proudest professional moment—launching the Vibe90Xperience—was a personal victory, too. “It’s the culmination of everything I believe in,” she says. “And it freed me up to be more available for my kids while still giving my clients the depth of support they deserve.” Recently honored as Best of St. Tammany Gold in Alternative Therapies by the Times-Picayune, she sees each step of her journey as a trust fall into something bigger than herself.
Her deepest hope is that her children remember not what she built, but how she lived—with wonder, play, and purpose. “I want them to know it’s possible to follow your heart—even when it’s messy. Even when no one else gets it,” she says. “And I want them to remember our drives to nowhere. The car karaoke. The lakefront swings. That joy isn’t something you chase—it’s something you create, again and again.”

The Goldfish Golden Learners program celebrates the many different ways that children learn, and provides our teachers with additional support, training and tools to support students who may benefit from more individualized teaching techniques.
Golden Learner Lessons can be taught in private, semi-private or group lessons, depending on the swimmer's individual needs, and class availability.

DR. BRIANNA MCDANIEL
Board-Certified Mohs Surgeon & Dermatologist
From a young age, Dr. Brianna McDaniel discovered her passion for dermatology—a field where life-changing results can be both visible and lasting. After facing her own skin struggles growing up, she understands how deeply skin health impacts self-esteem. Her personal experience shaped her path to a career where she not only treats skin cancer with precision, but also helps patients feel more confident through cosmetic dermatology and aesthetic treatments.
Now double board-certified in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatology, Dr. McDaniel brings advanced expertise to the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, while also helping patients feel their best through medical and cosmetic dermatology. “Mohs surgery allows me to cure cancer while preserving healthy tissue,” she says. “It’s meticulous work— but incredibly rewarding.”
At her Madisonville-based practice, Dr. McDaniel leads a team of board-certified dermatologists and licensed medical aestheticians who provide full-spectrum care. From skin cancer surgery to cosmetic procedures, patients receive expert treatment in a warm, patient-centered environment.
Outside the office, Dr. McDaniel prioritizes quality time with her husband, children, and close friends. She enjoys staying active through tennis, boating, and travel. “Balance is everything,” she says. “It helps me show up fully for both my patients and my family.”
Recently honored as a Top Dermatologist for the fifth consecutive year—and voted one of Northshore’s Best Dermatologists in St. Tammany Parish—Dr. McDaniel calls the recognition both humbling and meaningful. “Curing cancer and restoring confidence—it doesn’t get more rewarding than that. It’s why I love what I do.”
“Balance is everything. It helps me show up fully for my patients and my family.”

Dr. Claire MELANCON
Can you describe your specialty and what drew you to this particular field?
I practice in a very specific niche of cosmetic facial plastic surgery. I love being able to tangibly fix a problem, renew confidence, and see the life-changing impact that has on people’s lives. I was an artist before I did plastic surgery, so I think the artistic, detailed side of facial plastics drew me specifically to this specialty.
Tell us a little about your practice.
I started Audubon Facial Plastic Surgery almost 4 years ago and designed the practice to have a boutique concierge feel. I do nearly 100% cosmetic work, including rhinoplasty, facelift, neck lift, eyelid lifts, etc., as well as nonsurgical treatments like Botox and filler. AFPS is different in that it is designed to be patient-centered—never rushed, accessible staff, small touches, and a real boutique experience. We launched a second location in Mandeville last year, which has been amazing!.

What do you find most rewarding about your work as a physician?
I love seeing patients’ renewed confidence in their appearance, from a rhinoplasty patient who no longer sees just her nose when she looks in the mirror but instead sees a balanced woman who is full of confidence, to a facelift patient who now looks the age they feel on the inside.
How do you balance the demands of your profession with your personal life?
I am married with twin 3-year-olds, William and Adeline. They are the highlights of my life, and I have designed my practice schedule around getting maximum time with them while still working full-time. We hold our family time sacred, which allows me to give my all at work when I’m at work and the same at home when I am at home.
LISA ALBIN RESO
Director of Cancer Services,

When Lisa Albin Reso stepped into the role of Director of Cancer Services at Slidell Memorial Hospital Regional Cancer Center in January 2019, she brought with her a powerful combination of empathy, experience, and deep-rooted purpose. With over two decades in oncology, her leadership reflects a lifelong passion for compassionate patient care and a commitment to raising the standard of cancer services in our region.
Lisa oversees the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive cancer center that includes Radiation Oncology, Infusion Services, Medical Oncology Clinics, and an onsite lab. Her role involves more than managing operations. She builds bridges between teams, fosters a culture of excellence, and ensures each patient receives personalized, seamless care throughout their cancer journey.
Her path to leadership began humbly at age 18 as a secretary in a physician’s office. By 25, Lisa had returned to school to pursue her calling as a registered nurse. It was in nursing school that she discovered a deep passion for oncology, which has shaped every chapter of her career. After 15 years administering chemotherapy as an oncology nurse, she joined the infusion department at Slidell Memorial and later served as a nurse navigator, walking patients through the emotional and clinical stages of treatment. These experiences laid the foundation for her leadership today.
Lisa’s favorite part of her work is the people. The patients she serves and the staff she leads inspire her every day. Their resilience, compassion, and strength fuel her dedication, even through the challenges of navigating a complex healthcare system. She remains focused on eliminating barriers to timely, high-quality cancer care in the community she calls home.
Slidell Memorial Hospital Regional Cancer Center

For the past 25 years, Lisa has lived in the area and is continually moved by the warmth and unity of the people here. Outside of work, she is the proud mother of two sons. Her oldest works as a trauma ICU nurse and her youngest, known for his big heart, works in manufacturing. Lisa lost her mother in 2020 to COVID-19, an experience that deepened her understanding of loss and reinforced her mission to ensure patients feel supported during their most vulnerable moments.
She is an active supporter of the SMH Foundation and leads community events throughout the year, including National Cancer Survivors Day and Pinking of the Fountain in October. For Lisa, leadership is not about a title. It is about heart, service, and the lives touched along the way.

EVERSGERD Dr. Daniela
For Dr. Daniela Eversgerd, dentistry was never just a job—it was a calling. Inspired by her mother, a dentist, she grew up watching lives transform through care, connection, and confidence. “My mom is my inspiration,” she says. “I always saw how much she loved her work and the impact she had on people’s lives.”
Today, Dr. Eversgerd carries that legacy forward at Allure Dental in Louisiana. Known for her passion, precision, and purpose, she leads with a commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning.
“My motto is never stop learning. I take over 200 hours of continuing education each year,” she says. She also teaches a hands-on veneer and smile makeover course to dentists from across the country and mentors others in business and clinical practice.
Even outside the treatment room, her work is changing lives. Each year, she hosts a Smile Makeover Giveaway, gifting eight veneers to someone in her community. Past recipients have gone on to launch businesses and regain self-confidence. “That’s the most rewarding thing I do,” she shares.
At home, she credits her team, her husband, and her three children for keeping her grounded. Whether it’s family dinners, kids’ activities, or time for yoga, she makes space for what matters most.
Her advice to aspiring women in business? “Find a mentor early. Someone who is doing what you want to do.”
Dr. Eversgerd is more than a dentist. She is a leader, a teacher, and someone who truly changes lives— one smile at a time.

APRN, MSN, FNP-C
BRANDI Mc ANDREW
More than eight years ago, Brandi McAndrew, APRN, MSN, FNP-C, walked into a medspa while travel nursing in Texas—and something clicked. In that moment, she saw the future: a career where artistry and medicine could coexist, where women could feel seen, safe, and beautiful. She enrolled in Nurse Practitioner school the very next day, chasing a vision that would soon become her purpose.
Since then, Brandi has poured herself into her work—through long hours, hard lessons, and bold decisions. But she knows she didn’t get here alone. Family, friends, and patients have carried her through. What she’s built is more than a business—it’s a reflection of her integrity, resilience, and a deep desire to uplift others.

What makes her proudest isn’t the growth—it’s showing her daughter what’s possible. That women can lead. That success comes from staying true to yourself. That care, when done with heart, becomes a legacy.
Brandi's approach to aesthetics continues to evolve, embracing regenerative treatments that work with the body— not against it. She’s deeply committed to patient safety, natural results, and education that empowers others to feel confident in their choices.
Now, The Aesthetic Haus is expanding with a second location in Old Gretna—proof that when you lead with purpose, growth will follow. She hopes her patients remember this: she stood behind every product, every outcome, and every woman she served—with honesty, intention, and care

ARTEMUS FLAGG II, MD
For Dr. Artemus Flagg, medicine isn’t just a career. It is a calling. As a pain medicine specialist and veteran, his mission is simple: protect and improve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Louisiana. “Each day I’m able to do that is like winning a championship,” he says. “I see patients five days a week and wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Dr. Flagg specializes in pain medicine, a field focused on treating both acute and chronic pain through a multidisciplinary lens. His love for the operating room and surgical procedures naturally led him to Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Today, he leads Bayou Pain and Spine and Bayou Injury Treatment Center, the largest veteran owned practices of their kind in the region, where he provides personalized, stateof-the-art care for a wide range of injuries and conditions.
A native of Nashville, Dr. Flagg’s journey has taken him from the battlefield to the bedside. He served in Iraq as a Battalion and Brigade Flight Surgeon with the United States Army’s
1st Cavalry Division and later as Chief Flight Surgeon at the Pentagon. He completed his residency and fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, where he was honored for clinical excellence and leadership.
When asked how he balances medicine and life, he says with a smile, “I don’t. I just try to make good decisions, keep my word, and let both worlds coexist.”

For brothers Dr. Marc and Dr. Scott Schroeder, chiropractic care is more than a profession. It is a passion rooted in personal experience and a lifelong appreciation for movement and recovery. Both former athletes, they were introduced to chiropractic care through their own sports injuries. It was Dr. Scott’s experience with a college injury that ultimately changed everything. After trying multiple treatments without success, chiropractic care was the first to bring relief. That moment marked a turning point and sparked a shared mission to help others heal naturally and effectively.

professional. The practice reflects their shared values of trust, family, and integrity. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, they offer dry needling, massage therapy, spinal decompression, and guided rehabilitation exercises. Every treatment plan is personalized to address the root cause of pain and support long term wellness.

They specialize in chiropractic care with a focus on spinal health, soft tissue therapy, and injury rehabilitation. Their athletic backgrounds give them a deep understanding of how the body moves and what it takes to recover. Whether working with athletes or individuals seeking pain relief and improved mobility, they focus on restoring function and helping patients live more active, pain free lives. Their care philosophy centers on working with the body’s own healing abilities rather than relying on medication or surgery.

DR. ERIK SOINE
Board-Certified Dermatologist
For Dr. Erik Soine, medicine is a calling rooted in purpose and service. He believes that helping others achieve optimal health is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to the world. Without health, he explains, it becomes more difficult for people to live lives of purpose and service. His work allows him to meet people in their most vulnerable moments and support their wellness journey from prevention to recovery.
Dr. Soine chose dermatology because it offers both visual clarity and hands-on care. As someone who thrives on objective results, he finds deep satisfaction in treating conditions where both patient and physician can clearly see progress. The specialty’s blend of procedural work and visual diagnosis suits both his strengths and personality.
His practice model is built around physician leadership. At a time when corporate systems often dominate healthcare decisions, Dr. Soine is passionate about restoring autonomy to the doctors who care for patients. By creating a supportive and independent work environment for medical professionals, his practice aims to deliver better outcomes for everyone involved.
For Dr. Soine, the most rewarding part of his work is the relationships. Whether it is with patients, staff, or fellow physicians, he values the trust and connection that come from working together toward better health. He also takes pride in mentoring younger doctors in the business side of medicine, helping them maintain both autonomy and passion throughout their careers.

REBEKAH SPRINGER
I am a Covington local, born and raised. I am a self-taught artist who recently chose to embrace the gifts and talents God has given me. I enjoy creating large abstract pieces and pursuing the creative journey. My desire is to bring joy to others with my work.

Richard J. Grisoli, MD

LASE R & VEIN CENTER
SPECIALIZING IN AESTHETIC LASERS & TOTAL VEIN CARE
Can you describe your specialty and what drew you to this particular field?
I am board certified in three different medical specialties: Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, and the new specialty of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. Technology and attention to detail are what drew me to these specialties.
Tell us a little about your practice.
I have been practicing medicine on the Northshore since 1984. I established a vein care practice 27 years ago. I had an interest in this field as well as a unique work schedule that allowed me to balance both my hospital based anesthesiology practice as well as my own vein care practice.
In 2005, I was invited by Destin Plastic Surgery to bring my vein practice to their building. For the next 18 years, my vein practice was exclusively at that location in Destin. During that time, I was asked to establish and operate an aesthetic laser practice for Destin Plastic Surgery which I did. Over the last 10years, I have found that I greatly enjoy my dual practice of vein care as well as aesthetic care. Both of these specialties are interesting and rapidly evolving. It is endlessly stimulating to me, and there is no room for boredom!
After many happy years of practice in Destin, I decided to return full time to Mandeville to be closer to my rapidly growing family and many good friends!
My Mandeville practice includes total vein care from the cosmetic small spider veins to the large medically necessary cases which are covered by most insurance plans. In my practice, I see every patient at every encounter, and I personally perform all ultrasound exams and all vein procedures.
Regarding
our
Aesthetic procedures:
We provide the most effective solutions for all degrees of skin aging using world class Sciton lasers. I work closely with Katie Rebouche, LME in performing laser treatments as well as Joy Grisoli in performing aesthetic consults and providing Patient Education. Additionally, Katie provides superb laser hair removal services in a comfortable, private setting at a ‘budget friendly’ price. Finally, we know your time is valuable, we respect that and our office is proud to say we are very punctual.

Dr. Brad LeBert
BOARD CERTIFIED OTOLARYNGOLOGIST
Hailey Baldwin-McSwain
AUDIOLOGIST

Board-certified Otolaryngologist Brad LeBert, MD, views medicine as a calling—driven by a passion to relieve suffering and improve lives. Specializing in ENT and allergy care for patients of all ages, he values the blend of surgical expertise and non-surgical treatments, tailoring care to each individual. At Covington ENT & Allergy Clinic, patients are welcomed into a spa-like environment designed for comfort, cleanliness, and calm. For Dr. LeBert, the most rewarding part of his work is improving quality of life and building trusted relationships with patients and families. Outside the clinic, he prioritizes time with his wife and two sons, staying active through weightlifting and yoga. His advice to future physicians: pursue medicine only if it truly speaks to your soul.

For Dr. Hailey Baldwin McSwain, balance is both a personal and professional value. As an audiologist and mother of two, she takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care while being fully present for her family. Her journey into audiology was inspired by her grandfather, a WWII veteran who experienced significant hearing loss. When he passed away during her first college audiology course, she felt it was a sign to pursue this path with purpose. Today, she is known for combining clinical expertise with compassion, meeting patients where they are and empowering them through education. Passionate about the future of hearing care, she’s excited by advancements like Auracast, which promises greater accessibility for hearing aid users, continuing her mission to improve lives through clarity and connection.

TEACHERfeature
Who in your life influenced your decision to become a teacher?
Two of my greatest influences in becoming a teacher were Mrs. Rosemerry Hanian, my dance teacher and Mr. Cruthirds, my high school English teacher. Mrs. Rosemerry fostered in me creativity, confidence, and a strong work ethic. Mr. Cruthirds brought out my academic strengths through his patience, kindness and humor. He was the most down to Earth Harvard graduate.
What is your biggest challenge as a teacher?
My biggest challenge as a teacher is never having enough time to provide all of the enrichment activities that I would love to give my students.
What do you find most rewarding about teaching?
The most rewarding aspect of teaching is watching a student's confidence grow. When they finally understand a concept, when that smile spreads across their face, it is simply the best!

How do you make learning engaging and fun for your students?
Providing multisensory activities using a variety of modalities is an approach that not only enhances student learning but makes learning fun! Incorporating movement, music, and art into my lessons not only lends to cognitive growth and nueral connectivity but also allows for a focus on the whole child.
If you could leave your students with one lasting message, what would it be?
If I were to leave my students a message, I would have to borrow a quote from A.A. Milne: “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

“Healing isn’t just physical. Showing up, staying present—that’s part of the work too.”
MATTHEW MCELVEEN, MD
Medical Oncologist | Medical Director, SMH Regional Cancer Center

For Dr. Matthew McElveen, the calling to medicine began with the deep admiration he held for the physicians who cared for his family and community growing up. Their compassion and commitment left a lasting imprint. “They were pillars—trusted sources of healing in times of vulnerability. I wanted to become that kind of presence for others.”
Today, Dr. McElveen specializes in medical oncology, with a focus on breast and lung cancers. He was drawn to the field by its ever-evolving nature. “The science is always advancing—new research, new treatments. It’s inspiring, and I’m driven to be a part of that progress.”
Since 2011, Dr. McElveen has served as the Medical Director of the SMH Regional Cancer Center. He spends 80% of his time in direct patient care, with the remainder devoted to leading his team in advancing compassionate, cutting-edge treatment.

What’s most rewarding about his work? “In oncology, there are highs and lows. Some patients are cured; others aren’t. But time and again, I’m humbled by their grace and gratitude. It’s an honor to walk beside them through it all.”
Balancing such emotionally charged work with personal life isn’t easy—but he approaches both with an open heart. “I’ve learned that healing isn’t just physical. Showing up, staying present—that’s part of the work too.”
His advice for aspiring medical professionals? “Find the area you love and commit to it. It’s not easy—but it’s worth every bit of the effort.”

Completed January 2025

LeChâteau
Tucked away on a breezy hill in Covington, Louisiana, Le Château stands as a stunning testament to vision, craftsmanship, and peaceful living. Situated on 10 acres of rolling countryside, this 5852 square foot estate is home to Melissa and Ryan Mitrik, a thoughtfully designed retreat where luxury meets tranquility.
The Mitrik Family Home Covington, Louisiana Savoie Construction
Photos by Eugenia Lubrano-Gangi of NOLA Real Estate Marketing and Photography

The home was completed in January 2025 after a two year custom build by Ross Savoie of Savoie Construction. Drawing inspiration from modern French château design, Le Château features a striking white exterior with bold black accents and a classic, timeless interior with transitional touches throughout.
Inside, the home includes four bedrooms, four full bathrooms, and two half baths spread across two floors. The palette of soft blues and neutrals sets a serene tone, creating a zen like atmosphere from the moment you enter. “We wanted a space that felt peaceful, warm, and welcoming,” says Melissa.

At the heart of the home is the family’s favorite gathering space: the kitchen. Anchored by a large waterfall quartz island, it includes paneled Thermador refrigerator and freezer, Bosch appliances throughout, and a hidden pantry with its own built in Thermador coffee maker. A Kohler farmhouse sink and Delta faucets complete the space with functionality and elegance.
The primary suite is a private oasis. A statement stone wall highlights the tall ceilings and spa like bathtub. Marble floors and shower walls, multiple showerheads, gold and acrylic hardware, and quartz countertops offer a refined retreat at the end of each day.

Throughout the home, curated design choices bring the Mitrik family’s vision to life. Flooring includes warm maple wood, marble, and Sistene tile in wet areas. Furnishings and décor from The French Mix, Villa Vici, and Arhaus blend seamlessly with original art by Louisiana creatives including Zana Brown, Page Goss, Casey Langteau, Lauren Barksdale Hill, Donna Barron, and Donna Roppolo.
But Le Château is more than a beautifully built home; it is a lifestyle. Outdoors, the Mitriks created a boutique style escape with a 40 foot pool, jetted hot tub, and a cabana complete with a full bath and shower. A large pond with a lighted fountain adds a serene backdrop to the landscape, which also includes a custom chicken coop, white peacocks, and pesticide free gardens as part of their vision for a boutique farm.
“We left suburbia for something quieter, more intentional,” says Melissa. “Here, we have created a place where every detail brings us joy.”

Alison & Joseph

For Alison Rubio and Joseph Impastato, love wasn’t rushed—it was refined. After years of dating, the couple’s journey led them to a dreamy proposal in Southern California and an unforgettable destination wedding in the heart of Mexico.
PHOTOS BY REGINA MALO
I
n January 2024, Joseph surprised Alison with a proposal during a sunset walk along the beach in Santa Monica. As fate would have it, a mariachi band was practicing nearby, adding a serendipitous soundtrack to the moment. They celebrated with dinner, drinks, and late-night pizza before heading south to La Jolla, savoring the first few days as a newly engaged couple.
Their wedding was held in San Miguel de Allende, a city close to Alison’s heart. “I’m originally from Queretaro, and my family would visit San Miguel growing up,” Alison shares. “I always dreamed of getting married in the cathedral in the center of town.” That dream became reality, and Alison describes the experience of stepping out of the church as “like a movie,” with a surprise mariachi performance arranged by her uncle and a sunset that painted the sky in pink and blue.

The celebration continued at San Jose La Vista vineyard, where guests enjoyed a cocktail hour and reception that lasted until 4:00am. The couple honored both of their cultures—Alison’s Mexican roots and Joseph’s New Orleans background—by blending two traditions: the New Orleans second line and San Miguel’s callejonada. Guests danced through the streets with umbrellas, beads, and mariachi, celebrating a love that bridges heritage and heart.
Alison’s gown was just as unforgettable—an intricate lace dress with a dramatic train and corset top, complete with detachable custom sleeves. Her wedding colors of lilac, green, and white added to the romantic, elegant atmosphere. As for the cake? “Funny enough,” Alison laughs, “we didn’t have one!”

The couple now lives in Mandeville, Louisiana. “I love the Northshore,” Alison says. “It’s been such a wonderful and supportive place for my family. Growing up here and now building a life here as an adult has been such a gift.”
