Club Run Our Scenicland 4 Lakes Rally takes the place of our monthly Club run this month. Your entry form should be into Marie Woolhouse by now if you intend taking part. Numbers coming along have picked up, members from other Branches are registered to come and we should have a great day. All we want is for the sun to shine.
NELSON SWAP MEET A few members from our Branch went along to the Nelson Swap Meet on 18th February. We, along with Pat & Elaine and Roger & Irene checked it out. This event is growing from strength to strength and the number of sites have increased considerably. I’m not sure exactly what treasures were discovered but it was fun checking out the wares. It was fun for us as we kept meeting up with people that we had not seen since we left Nelson, it took us a while to get around the sites.
FEBRUARY CLUB RUN Colin reports… Our Club run on Sunday, 26th February was the result of some scheming by Elaine Peacock and Raewyn Turton at the fish and chip night prior to Christmas. 38 members in 20 cars took part in a run via Blackball to Taylorville, Blackball and Atarau to Ikamatua. Darren and Raewyn Turton’s property in Blackball was visited where were greeted with scones and cream, had to comply with traffic light entry and got
absolutely blown away by Darren’s collection of vehicles, motoring knick knacks, hubcap collection, signage, viewing platform and innovative layout of different features everywhere (amazing). The new Blackball Museum and History Site was also visited, in which Darren and friends are heavily involved and is an ongoing project. Off up the valley to the Pike River familys tributes and memorial site where we mingled to pay our respects to the lost 29 men. The run culminated with a superb BBQ lunch at the Ikamatua Hotel, on what was a magnificent sunny day, for a change!!!

SERVICE BADGES – To those members who are nearing 25, 35 or 50 years membership, please contact Membership officer David Campbell. You are entitled to a service badge for your continued membership. Check out the date you joined the Vintage Car Club.
NAME BADGES – Also, please contact David Campbell if you would like a magnetised name badge. The Branch supplies your first one.
VIC FORMS - A reminder to all members who have VIC cards that are due to expire, you will receive a personalised RENEWAL FORM from the National Office at least three months before the due date. You cannot download a form off the internet. They are personalised for each individual vehicle.
VERO INSURANCE - If you take your Insurance out with VERO they will then pay the Branch a small Commission which helps with Branch finances. Please note that when applying for Insurance cover with VERO you must quote the Branch number which is 36 plus your membership number.
