Chairman’s Report HI Everyone Well august turned out to be a busy month For Keith’s memorial on the 12th we had a very good turnout About sixty family,vcc, members,and friends gathered to pay tribute And remember some of Keith’s life, I think Keith would be very pleased and humbled On the 21st we had daffodil delivery day of which we had a good Turnout of our usual supporters about 10 with their cars A big thanks from cancer support Janice Mehrtens On the 27th we had the v.c.c. national day for the cancer society We had 11 cars and members (very pleasing ) and 6 locals (not so good) But those that went enjoyed the run around town and the B,B,Q, In all a good afternoon 2nd sept THE SWAP MEET not so good think the weather is against us With only 8/9 sites booked but that’s the way it goes sometime 3rd sept we had the teapot rally which was a very hurried event But four of us turned up and had a good run A big WELL DONE DUFF we took home the tea pot trophy First time for a few years WELL DONE BARRY

Club Captains Report August has been an eventful month. It was lovely to meet Keith Lange's friends and family, and give Keith a good send off. Cancer Society daffodil delivery day kept some of us out of mischief for a few hours! The National Vintage Car Club day for the Cancer Society saw a lot of innovative ideas for fund raising. Waimate held a B.B Q and car display. Timaru held a run to Clayton Station, and Otago had a very successful Show and Shine. The Swap Meet was not quite the success of last year, however there is next year to look forward to. On November 3rd the 50th presentation badges will take place at the Makikihi hotel. What an achievement to belong to a club for 50 years! All members are invited to attend.
Finally, to the amazement of Barry Duff, he won the Teapot Rally, and took home the teapot. Thank you Oamaru for organising the run. Drive safely Suzanne

National Executive Meeting Blenheim We left home Thursday night and drove as far as Cust and stayed with family the night. 9.00am Friday we were on the road to Blenheim, Arthurs Pass road and the traffic was great. 1st stop Reefton and then Murchison for lunch. Nice find day through the Wairau Valley and the roads were not as bad as we anticipated. Although I have to admit there were a huge abundance of road cones. Points of Interest at the meeting through my eyes: Every club in NZ is being asked to send a copy of their constitution to ChCh head office, reason being they are totally out of date for today’s world... National Office may send a list of rules to work around. Health & Safety plan: Looking at putting this on web site for clubs to follow Increasing the price of Beaded Wheels in retail outlets Membership form being simplified 30year rule entailed lengthy discussion Still working on 12 months WOF for older cars Two excellent presentations on future rallies in NZ VCC Face book page slowly picking up momentum In the 35 years that I have attended many National AGM’s all over NZ. It’s as if time has stood still, nothing seems to have changed at all, the concept, the programme and many of the faces. Blenheim gave us beautiful weather. Travelling home the same route quicker in time all over. Grateful we came on the Sunday as snow hit late that afternoon/evening.

The Winner of the Teapot Rally Is??
BARRY 50 Year Celebrations – Badges Last week we had a meeting to discuss the upcoming 50year membership. This was attended by: John Dawson. Steve Dyson, Lindsay Hossack, Suzanne Anderson, & Trevor Holland. WE have settled on the Makikihi Hotel for the celebrations on the 3 th of November. Lindsay Hossack and Trevor Holland will be receiving their 50 year badges. This evening is open to all members and we are hoping to have a guest speaker A good turn out would make the evening more memorable and would be appreciated. John Dawson.
