Discussion on the new VCC constitution and North Shore concern about it. Voting papers for new constitution need to be filled out and returned to Head Office. Copies available
Garage Raid 2and Aug Peter reported on the progress , 7 Garages in run and volunteers need to help with lunch Owen has purchased 100 pies for Lunch
Henry Ford Day 26th July meet at Seddon Square for Display at 8.30 followed by run to Waihao Forks
Swap Meet 6th September 8-1pm Help needed to set up on the Friday , $100 raffle to be organised . Robert to sort out chips, road cones and float. Entry $2 and site Fees $10

Another reasonable attendance for the July club meeting on a chilly winters evening with 22% of our membership in attendance
The only events left for this month are Henry Ford’s birthday celebration gathering and the parts shed open day, along with the midweek run on Wednesday the 30th. The clubrooms will be open for a morning cup of tea and, of course, please feel free to come along.
Constitution voting forms need to be filled out and posted before the 4 th of August. If you require the ballot form, please give me 0273726263 or Barry 0274852032 a call and we will get them to you asap.
Please come out and support the upcoming events, I am sure there will be a great variety of interesting vehicles and memorabilia at the garage raid on the 2nd of August, there will be something for everyone. The much-anticipated scooter run is on the 17th August, make sure that the machine is ready to go. Put together a team for the quiz night and come along and join us for Daffodil day activities, Saturday 23rd August
We still have some Vintage Car Club Waimate window stickers available for $2.50 each
The history books say that the first official car race was organized all the way back in 1894. It was an 80 km reliability race that took place on the road between Paris and Rouen. The winner managed to finish the race with an average speed of 16.4 km/h. This was a monumental achievement seeing how the first fuel-powered engines were only invented in the 1880s.
